Tybrus
This is the first of my planned 2 speeders I will be making. It can be counts as speeder, or tempest. Sorry the pictures are not better but my camera is what it is. The History is that these 2 craft (Flying dreadnoughts if you will, pilots have been wired into crafts, but the design itself was demanded by Russ himself as his personal Close Air support. Armed with a multimelta, and a number of missiles, as well as a cannon of sorts.) Without further wasting of time... http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd492/khazzel/P8080007.jpg http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd492/khazzel/P8080006-Copy.jpg http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd492/khazzel/P8080005.jpg http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd492/khazzel/P8080004.jpg http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd492/khazzel/P8080003.jpg http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd492/khazzel/P8080002.jpg http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd492/khazzel/P8080001.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242150-the-fangs-of-russ/ Share on other sites
cathar the great
Interesting design. May I suggest adding rivets to the non-40k parts and some cabling on the belly of the craft? It might help tie those parts in with the 40k aesthestics. Lestat
Interesting concept - it could very easily pass for a tempest. Wheres the donor vehicle from? The only thing I would change is the missile pod. I would either add another one to the opposite wing to balance the model or to mount it centrally - maybe above the cockpit or below the nose. Foxmarine
I really like it Where are the pieces from? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242150-the-fangs-of-russ/#findComment-2927320 Share on other sites
Tybrus
The vehicle is one I got a pair of some years back, and to be honest I don't recall from where. Knowing my buying habits it had to be an Ebay purchase. The parts are from a number of different places, but a lot of them came from the Valk kit. I have one unbuilt left to make so I will post some pictures of the "Donor" vehicle. Jamafore
It looks good. My only, albeit minor, gripe would be that the canopy looks too big. Like it's out of proportion with the rest of the speeder. Maybe only paint the front-most windscreens? tbcBeasT
I'm pretty sure that the model is called a Splinter from Old Crow Models, would be pretty cool to see a few of them in a game.Think I may have to get myself some of those and use them as counts-as landspeeders. Alys Dwr
I like the idea but agree with Forgotten Knight about the canopy, it does seem far to large. Maybe add some panelling to the bacsk portion of the canopy so that it looks better armoured. On the whole though i must say this is very cool. Tybrus
I have had the same thoughts. The Cover for a LR Lascannons fits over the back windows and looks nice, Ill try and get some pictures up of it. I had been debating using it anyway this just confirms my own thoughts... Armor Athlete
(Flying dreadnoughts if you will, pilots have been wired into crafts, but the design itself was demanded by Russ himself as his personal Close Air support. Armed with a multimelta, and a number of missiles, as well as a cannon of sorts.) I like the flying dread idea.
