Tybrus Posted November 20, 2011 Author Share Posted November 20, 2011 Yeah found a Claw I liked and removed the Claws to a smooth level "Fist" then found two of the Wolves Chainswords that I liked and removed the handles to the just the blades and then slightly off set the blades (Ill try and get a better picture to shoe it better) but the are over under and about a blades with set Left to right so that when cutting into things the Counter rotating blades "Grind" anything pulled in withing the inter meshing blades. (Like I said Ill try and find a better picture but if you look at picture # 1 and #3 of the model you can get a really good idea that with the description I hope answers your questions.) Tybrus Posted November 20, 2011 Author Share Posted November 20, 2011 As most around here who know me, know I'm a grumpy old man that has been playing since the first day RT hit the shelf. (With the little cut out tokens and a ruler BATTLE OF THE FARM! I am still mad I lost my Missile launcher to Ork Grrrr) Anyway I thought I would post some of my first Space wolves for you to enjoy. These are the first editions of a "Space Wolf" grey hunter (If I recall correctly). This is Brother Stefhen First Codex Ever done Space Wolves. This was my First Wolfguard, who in a game charged a 6 man squad of Nurgel marines to hold a falling flank (Back then they moved as an IC if I recall. If not his squad had died down, what mattered was that he was alone. However I had armed his with 2 chainswords. This back in the rules of the time of that game allowed you to "Parry" if you had a sword (maybe even parry twice if you had 2 I don't recall) but you also did combat 1 man to one man so if your fighting6 guys its 6 combats one on one. Well these were Toughness 5 marines with a chaos trait of Something that gave them a d6 wounds extra and you rolled once for the whole squad and they all recived that many wounds extra. Well this wasa a 1 in a thousand chance on the chart, but this guy at our club (Yep we had an Honest to god club in a local store with a back room with TERRAIN builds and stuff and the only place in the city that sold 40K at all!) always had a a squad with them and always with a 6 rolled (yeah right). So Long Story short, there was no such thing as Turn Limits, and games could last days at the show. Brother Stefhen here at the end of that battle had defeated and slain the entire Squad on his own and even after MANY forced saves was Unwounded! Tybrus Posted November 22, 2011 Author Share Posted November 22, 2011 The two older mini's were painted back when 40k first came out (well shortly after) and are of the handful of my 1st army that I still own. I always like the way they came out (Other then the black Charlie Brown looking work on the WG. I got no end of grief for that. I have my 3 original dreads locked up in storage I will have to try and get some posted. Though to be honest I have used the cyclone launcher in current games. I added a magnet to his base and one to a 40mm base that sets him on top. Gives the right base size and adds height to make him fieldable once more. Thanks for all the comments and support... It is hard to see as well but he has a number of free hand black battle markings. Most of all is a down facing triangle under his right eye. The downward facing triangle has long been then sign of earth or mortality, and he wears the signs of his fate on his armor for all to see. Its also hard to see but between the Power fist top and the arm underneath there are a number of mettle cables etc, but the detail is lost in the picture....
