whats the fluff behind your fallen angels?

Mine started back during the Eye of Terror campaign when Cypher was also known as the Voice of the Emperor. In his background Fallen would mysteriously gravitate towards him so a force of Fallen would gather over time. They would go off to fight until Cypher's benefactor would whisk him away but leave the force on the field. Being the First Legion, they would win the battle but now they are fractured. The Fallen force was a mixed bag of Chaos and Loyalist rolled together. The war and would then split or have to the opposing officers fight to see who would lead the force and how it would fight.

This leads to a small fighting force that can use any of three codexes. CSM, SM and DA. I try to limit the units to those that are in all Codexes with an emphasis on Power Armor. Terminators and Dreads would be rare and Scouts would be like the Wolf Scouts. Experienced fighters in the captured/stolen lighter armor to infiltrate and wreak havoc silently. Bikes are fairly common but no land speeders and no tanks (but at least the tanks could have been gifted from the black legion or captured; land speeders would have required a lot of training and a lot of pilot brains to figure out).

While I don't have a Fallen Angel army, I do have fluff for one who serves as my DIY Chapter's primary antagonist as well as the catalyst for the events in a campaign I'm running with my brother (but don't tell him that :)).

On to the fluff: Benoni was a former sergeant within the 1st Legion. After the failed revolt on Caliban when Luther's defeated forces were cast through time and space, Benoni, like some of his brothers, decided to fully embrace the dark promises of Chaos. However, he eventually came to realize that the power he gained from this allegience was frighteningly ephemeral; at any time, he could lose the favor of the fickle Chaos gods and be reduced to nothing. In short, Benoni saw that he had become a plaything, meant to dance at the whims of others, and this fact did not sit well for him. Thus, he began a quest to discover some means to wrest back the soul he pledged and simply live for himself once more. If his goal lay down a road of bloodshed and betrayal, well, so be it.

Driven by pride, bitterness, and selfishness. Sounds like a Fallen to me.

My Fallen as my fluff for them goes were protecting the people of Caliban from the wrath of The DA that followed the Lion. They were a demi chapter drawn from a mixture of Terran and Calibanite recruits. They were scattered fairly close together within time and space and have gravitated towards one another under the banner of their former chapter master.

They are still few and as they draw close to one another they come into conflict with other renegades and heretics and to swell their warband to better protect themselves include them into the chapter under the command of a senior brother of the Legion.
