WyrdWolf
Oh I didn't realize that the 13th company symbol on the annulus was for all the lost companies...must've missed/forgot that line if it's in the 5th ed. rulebook because I know i've read it cover to cover at least twice. That definitely makes things way easier. In that case all i need to really do is come up with a reason for my wolf lord to have left the wolves. Oh and while we're on the subject of fluff, what the hell is with that account about that one group of wolves who got lost in a warp storm and ended up on a planet with friendly aliens and then one of the wolves made a pass at one of their "women" and they were never heard from again? I can help with the "why the Wolf Lord left" part: 1)Warp Storms made it impossible for the company to return 2)WL might not like Logan leading(or what ever great wolf is leading ) so he left Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242488-hey-everyone-look-at-the-new-guy/page/2/#findComment-2933394 Share on other sites
Wulf Vengis
Svengar the Red is essentially a 40k version of a viking or greek myth. Its based off of part of the Illead (or the Oddysee if you prefer). Sailors on a journey get lost and hear the calls of safety at a distant shore. They arrive to find a land of beautiful women and massive feasts and all seems well until the men reveal themselves to be piggish brutes to their hostesses. The hostesses transform them into pigs for their imputence and the heros are lost (all except Homer anyways). WyrdWolf
Vengis: That makes sense, I remember hearing/reading about that story a long time ago now that you mention it. Arez: I already have an idea in mind and it lies more along the lines of the second suggestion, I think I'm going to put my company leaving the wolves during the period prior to Logan being the great wolf. The storyline was going to revolve around the most poweful rune priest in the company having visions regarding Leman Russ or perhaps something else and informing the lord of the chapter about them. The lord then informed the Great Wolf of the time who for one reason or another didn't believe/didn't agree with the wolf lord, but the wolf lord trusting the rune priest took his company and set out to follow the visions. Hopefully that storyline makes more sense/meets with more approval than the WB idea. I can easily imagine a head strong Wolf Lord choosing to set off on his own Great Hunt to find Russ if the signs are strong enough. Just remember not to trust the visions too much...heed the lessons learned from the Battle of the Fang.
