Space Wolf Great Company's

At the moment i'm trying to figure out which chapter to collect, and atm i doubt between DIY or Space Wolves, mainly due to the freedom DIY gives. Altough i tend not to end up very happy with a DIY, an existing chapter provides evertything, at the cost of freedom of fluff/painting.

So, what i want to know, is wether you guys create an own Great Company, or use an existing one from the codex?

Also, if you use Logan Grimnar, do you go for his GC, or use him as count as?

Also, in the case of creating your own GC, what sort of fluff have you created for your Wolf Lord (much akin to how itæs described in the dex)

Thanks in advance

I've made my own company, the Company of the Firefist, in which I've not only made up a background for, but have also made a spurt of fluff for every single model. You can see it if you click the link in my sig. I need to get around to updating it, as I've got quite a lot more done.

Make your own company. You could make up your own fluff and paint them what ever you want.As for Logan im going to be converting a model to us as a count as Logan.......and if theres another special character i like i'll make a count-as for that one.

Hmm thanks for the reminder...i got to update mine to.LOL

It's a lot like creating a chapter, only with a Space Wolf theme. The Liber has some good advice on that. For mine, I came up with a backstory, where my Wolf Lord was sucked out of a Thunderhawk, and now the company has become a Lost Company and is constantly searching for him. I then took that, added in a bit of extra details and important battles and events, and whala! Then came the individual model fluff...

For the symbol, I just came up with something that looked cool to me and was relatively easy to make. My Wolf Lord was Wolf Lord Hrothgar Firefist, but then he fell out of the Thunderhawk. Currently, it's ruled by the Rune Priest.

At the moment i'm torn between The great wolves company, or making a new one, and saying that a certain Wolf Lord has died or something. Since i rather do the first, i've got some questions.

Is the Wolf that stalks between the Stars symbol on this decal sheet, and is it white? http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-4000...SFER-SHEET.html I'm thinking it's nr. 13 from the left, but i'm unsure if itæs the Spirit Wolf or the Wtsbts.

If not, can people give me examples of the Nightrunner symbol. What does it represent, or why do people choose this symbol? (much akin to how the codex 5th edition explains why Erik Morkai has the symbol of Morkai..)

Thanks in Advance

That decal sheet does have a white WTSBTS emblem because GW is dumb and made theirs black in all the SW box kits and FW sought to remedy that.
