Iron Father Ferrum
Right, so. I'm operating off of memory here, so feel free to verbally punch me if I'm jacking this up. It just occured to me, is all. So. From the blurb and extract on Deliverance Lost that we have seen so far indicates pretty clearly that the Alpha Legion officer on the bridge of that World Eater ship from the short story at the end of the Age of Darkness knew that his Legion had operatives on board the Raven Guard vessels and was deliberately acting to save their lives. At first, it threw us all for a loop, suggesting instead that the Alphas were still clinging to Imperial loyalty. Granted, I'm hypothesizing without knowing what happens in DL, but I do have some important questions to ask. Why did Horus order/allow Alpha Legion personnel on the bridge of a World Eater warship to begin with? Why did Angron allow it? Did other Legions have Alphas seconded to them as well, perhaps in the role of spymaster? Was it Alpharius' plan, or Horus'? How many Legionnaires were so assigned, and did such an assignment, combined with the strike force split off to infiltrate the Raven Guard, cause any serious manpower issues in the newest and most likely one of the smallest Legions? I know I rambled a bit, but all of a sudden this stuff is bugging me. . . Blood Angel Scout
Having re-read AoD again recently, my take was that the World Eater's had no knowledge whatsoever of the Alpha's plans hence the shock/disbelief from the captain when his second-in-command reveals himself as Alpharius Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242617-the-alpha-legion-more-to-the-story/#findComment-2933369 Share on other sites
Olis
I was also under the impression the Alpha was there under guise. I don't think Horus or Angron would have a say in the matter. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242617-the-alpha-legion-more-to-the-story/#findComment-2933375 Share on other sites

Edit- Spelling. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242617-the-alpha-legion-more-to-the-story/#findComment-2933476 Share on other sites
