sponsra
I'm in the process of re-reading the HH series. I've read all the books once (up to Age of darkness) and I finished The first heretic today on my second time around. Now, I got The outcast dead last week and I can't decide if I should re-read Prospero Burns and Age of darkness or if I should just skip ahead and start on The outcast dead.... Coryphaus 101
It depends. If you're a pretty fast reader read the other two again, otherwise skip ahead. Legionator
Since "the Outcast Dead" adds nearly nothing to main story, you can re-read PB and AoD. Commander Proteus
I think you would be safe to go ahead and read The Outcast Dead. From what I gather, it's basically coinciding with the ending events in Fulgrim/The First Heretic, and meat of A Thousand Sons/Prospero Burns. IMO, the beauty of the HH series is that any one book resolves itself, and you get a solid picture of that portion of the heresy without wondering about others. I love the series because you can pick up any book, possibly excepting the opening trilogy, and you get a good preamble, decent rising action, and a nice, closure-rife plot resolution. Hasn't been one book yet that left me wondering what was next, or what else was up. -Proteus Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242646-what-to-read-dilemma/#findComment-2934217 Share on other sites

It sure does not move the timeline but adds nothing to main story ? Hardly. Sviox
I still very very much would appreciate a nice graphically presented timeline with each books and the events in them. Too bad BL hasn't gotten this idea yet. Would make one myself if I only had the time! That would help people decide a proper reading order suitable for themselves. There is a great timeline made by Isilvra in this thread: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=231656 Check out post #7 Edit: Just noticed that you already posted in that thread about a graphical timeline Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242646-what-to-read-dilemma/#findComment-2934986 Share on other sites
