I've been building for 10 hours now and now it's time for sleep I think

I know the models aren't finished yet, I've still got alot of work to do on them. I'm proud of the Dreadknight on the left as that was the first one I did and gave him a giant Guardian Spear. I'll probably do more modelling on them both in the next few days.

The Stormravens looks pretty naked just now, I've still to stick the weapons on and as you can see I'm painting over the cockpit because I hate the look of it and makes the model horrid looking.

Totally amazing. I for one am all for taking the time to get the pose 'just right' for every model. The bigger they are, the more reason to make sure they have a great pose. Stellar work. The beauty of the hobby is the ability to make any changes you see fit to make them really personal. Keep it up.
Amazing job, the poses are really good in all your models, and the paintjob is looking good, ive to steal some ideas from job for my own custodes when I started then, really liking the conversion of the guardian spears with the umbra ferrox bolters, and the dreadkinghts are top work really liking the finished one and the other is promising. Keep the good work coming VAGABOND. Are you gonna do some termi custodes??

Thanks for the comments guys, glad to see your enjoying my progress so far. I might do more work on the Dreadknights tomorrow as they are still needing alot of work and also have to more details to the Ravens aswell. The Bolters were just spares I had in my bits box after I did a friends Raven Guard commission which I'm still working on. I have no plans to make Custodian Terminators anytime soon since these guys are counting as Paladins. I will no doubt start work on the next squad of Custodes when I receive the next parcel in the mail.

I've also just bought another model to lead my army instead of the Draigo I converted....

Watch this space!

Looking good m8. I haven't logged in here in quite some time as you can see. My Eldar takes up all the time I have in the hobby since their codex came out. I did hang out here though when I was building up my BT.

The models look stunning. Like others have said, very dynamic poses all round and you've got the painting skills to match your building/converting ones. Add to the mix that you can play as well............

Awesome work. I'll be keeping an eye on this and thanks for getting me back to B & C.

Findlay! How are you mate?

I didn't even know you were a member, I've been on here for around 8 years but was under another name.

I'm guessing you got the link through Facebook then? I've been working on this army like a machine for 2 days straight and only just finished converting the other Dreadknight and filling in gaps all night.. no jokes please.

No problem and thanks for taking the time to check the blog out, it's much appreciated mate!

I'm hoping to get this army ready for the next tournament in Perth and maybe go for best painted this time instead of winning even though both would be a nice achievement.

I played my first game with these guys today, had a good game against a regular opponent of mine using his Ghazghull 4 Battlewagon list... so yeah for my first game we played 3k.

I was outnumbered 4-1 and still managed to win.

Highlight of the game as when Ghazghull lost his Inv Save when the Vindicare nailed him and shot to pieces by a Stormraven after I wiped out his squad of Nobz in melee. I was up 5 kill points in the first turn and that was just by shooting and not havening both Ravens on the board.

:BIG UPDATE:

Sorry for the lack of pictures over the past few days guys but I've been pretty busy with this army and playing with them over the past few days. I've just finished painting the first Dreadknight and both squads for my 2k Draigowing list. The 2 Stormravens and the other Dreadknight have been drybrushed then will be getting washed and possibly a highlight tonight, just depends on how long the wash takes to dry.

The model I'm using for my Draigo counts as still hasn't arrived yet but it should be here this week.. fingers crossed. I just need ti work on his other parts so it's just an idea of gluing him together when he does arrive.

I've also played another 2 games this week with my Draigowing and I'm loving these guys, and people are finding it hard to take out the units. I played against a good friend of mine who uses Deathwing and he did really well taking out both Dreadknights early on (bad rolling on my part) and then I played 1500 against Necrons and wiped the floor with him. I was pretty lucky early on in the game taking out his Monolith and his army crumbled by the end of turn 3.

Now onto the pictures

A few of the models still need a little tidying up but the pictures are just to show my progress so far. I reckon by speed I'm painting them at they will be well ahead of schedule for this tournament in February.

Another quick update on my progress, my order from Forgeworld arrived this morning and i think I broke a record for building this guy as quickly as I did... 40 minutes altogether and that was including washing the resin. I did the cloak earlier tonight when I got home from GW after losing my first game to my mates Ork army. The green stuff work looks a little messy in the picture but I will sand it down tomorrow and see how it turns out.

If anyone can guess who Cullin is modelled on then I'll upload an army shot tomorrow morning when I can take decent photos.

Has no one noticed that all the heads are too big? They are meant for a larger scale model. As someone who bought 30 of the heads and shoulder to make a similar army a year ago i was very dissapointed at the scale of the scibor bits. Some nice conversions and paint jobs however the scibor heads and to a lesser degree some of the shoulderpads you have used spoils the models in my opinion.

Regards,

Crynn

Before I bought the army I did a little research online and to check out the scale for them and it didn't look too bad on regular Marine bodies. I like how the shoulder pads are a little larger because it bulks it out more and thats exactly what i was going for.

Draigo looks good. A friend of mine had a suggestion. He thinks that it looks kinda silly when all of your guys come jumping of rocks and stuff like that. The Dreadknights, as an example, are standing on quite unrealistic debris. Maybe only like 1/3 of them should have that kind of bases? It might make the whole thing look a little bit better. Just a suggestion.

- Nat (and friend)

The only reason they are standing on ruins was to give them additional height, I'm not gonna fo back over them because I don't have the time to do so and they are already based. The only thing I need to do on the bases now is add Mordheim Turfs.

Adding debris to models is something I've always done, look at my Deathwing army as an example.

:Update:

I know I said last night I was gonna take photos today but the Scottish sunshine didn't wanna play ball earlier. I'm planning to play a few games in GW tomorrow so will possibly take pictures then if I remember.

Just finished painting on the center piece for my army, only have a few more things to do and he's fully painted. Pretty impressed by how quickly I painted him but yeah from start to finish, an hour and a half. :cuss I sprayed him earlier on and panicked because the paint looked as if it went on a little thick but it dried perfect. Not sure how you guys will think of it but I'm impressed and a few of my mates think he's turned out great.

Yeah that should fix it. The headpiece the guys is wearing is accurate, but like you said you need to add the longer black hair.

Yeah man absolutely, I looked around on here to find tutorials on doing long hair but couldn't find anything but I'll ask in GW tomorrow.

Thanks dude:)
