Iron Crusaders captain on jetbike

This is my first post in this forum, and my latest conversion project: a SM captain on his thoroughly pimped-out ride, to use as a Kor'sarro Khan counts-as with my Iron Crusaders (codex chapter) army.

I shamelessly stole the idea from this http://jkazrael.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4h1sk6 , but as you can see I made several changes to the original concept, adding, replacing and making use of various bits I had around the place. I think the pics are pretty self-explanatory, but here's a list:

-frontal sensor array / stabilizer / BFG / whatever: made out of bits from the comms device in the Imperial Bastion box ( http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...odId=prod20008a )

-side sensors / stabilizers and rear light: additional bits from the comms device (so you'd need at least two)

-anti-g plates: from the typhoon missile launchers in the Ravenwing box, with the tips of the missiles sawn off.

-rear jet: also from the Ravenwing typhoon.

-tarpaulin, utility box, winged canopy and skull: likewise from the Ravenwing boxed set.

-exhaust extensions: the shooty ends of two meltanguns.

-wings: from Sanguinary Guard backpacks.

-decorative shield at the front: from the Grey Knights Terminators.

The rider himself was built using bits from the Ravenwing, Sanguinary Guard, Death Guard and Black Templars boxes. The only true conversion I did was take a tabarded Black Templars torso and remove the bit below the belt, so it'd fit on top of the Ravenwing legs.

The only thing I bought specifically for this project was the Sanguinary Guard box; everything else is stuff I already had at home, left over from other projects.

So, how do you like it? I haven't chosen a shoulder pad for the left arm yet, but I consider it basically done. Still, all comments and suggestions will be welcome! ^^

Hell of a conversion/kitbash, but the 14 year old in me can't help but giggle at the front gun. It's downright distracting.

More distracting than a Baneblade's Big Gun or a SoB's power armour? :P The way I see it, if it doesn't look like somebody is trying to compensate for something, then it's not proper Imperial design.

Oh, and BTW, it's not actually supposed to be a gun: rather, it's part of the tech that makes the whole thing fly. As the miniature is meant to double for Kor'sarro Khan on Moondrakkan, the bike's only actual weapons would be the twin bolters.

I must admit the front array does remind me of something, can't imagine what though...

Interesting conversion, brother, nicely done. One question - The exhaust vent at the back (the central thing), what is that from? :)

The model looks pretty solid other than the rather large phallus coming out of the front end.

The upper exhaust pipes could be drilled a little bit deeper, and there are some mold lines in annoying places.

I see you have found the ancient "Penetrator Design" Jet Bike. You will find the the Viagras fuel additive will give it enhanced performance on the Battlefield. However, becareful it was known to fair poorly aganist powerfists woul were always able to land on the tip of the ram, thus knocking the Tip in the dirt as it were. Care on....

Thanks for all the comments -even the "inappropriate" ones! ;) I knew that the frontal array would remind people of something, and I'm also well aware that it looks exposed and vulnerable; but all those traits are actually time-honored staples of Imperial design, so I don't see anything wrong with them ^^ I'm letting the project rest for the moment being, but there shall be painting during the Xmas holidays -so stay tuned!

Ok Hi there first of all this conversion for a Space Marine Jetbike looks great and the back wings are cool to make it stand out along with the melta thrusters at the back which is cool so a Great model, however i feel some things were not mentioned like this design looks similar to mine, however i will give that a pass since i'm kind and you did tell me that you made this design through a message. there is only one area i would think about changing if you want to. I think some of the areas of the jetbike like the back wings look a bit fragile I might suggest making them more tucked into the jetbike itself so they don't stand out so thin and fragile But this is me being critical. So in all a very good and cool looking Jetbike Model

Not mentioned? Well, if look at the first post, I linked to your DA page. In fact, I even looked up if there was a "JKAzrael" here at the B&C, but your username here is different so nothing turned up. But it's not like I was trying to steal the credit, far from it ^^

As for the back wings: you're so right :( I know, they're going to be the most fragile part. Your own solution is much more practical, but I wanted to give my jetbike a different look and I like it that way. I guess I'll just have to be careful and maybe not use it a lot in games!
