OptiMAT
Hi guys, Making up a conversion beamer for my MOTF, I was thinking a modeling it from the Necron Destroyer's cannon arm, not only because it's a decent size and had glow sticks but it also fits quite nicely as an explanation for the technology. Does anyone have any experience on the forums making their own conversion beamers? using the Techmarine with Servo Harness model I was going to use the harness backpack but simply shave off the rods for the arms and attach the cannon over the shoulder with some other parts from the Necron kit and Space Marine power vents on the rear to make it look a bit beefier. Anyone have any tips/pics/WIP shots they can show to help? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242721-conversion-beamer/ Share on other sites

Brother Anvilus
Here's my MoTF with Beamer on foot : It's basically the techmarine from the Thunderfire cannon with the backpack minus the arms ( shave of the nobs the arms are attached to ).Then just mod the arms and attach em to the lower attachment spots and voila; dual beamer master :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242721-conversion-beamer/#findComment-2935031 Share on other sites
Zincite
I've got a spare Destroyer arm upstairs, and comparing it to my Techmarine, from all appearences it'd fit perfectly if you cut off a Servo Arm. Little else to help you out, sorry. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242721-conversion-beamer/#findComment-2935103 Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
If you can spare a little money, you could just buy FWs Contemptor Conversion Beamer arm. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242721-conversion-beamer/#findComment-2935110 Share on other sites

OptiMAT
Gurth thanks for sharing, saw that one on Google when I was looking for inspiration. Looks great for a handheld beamer and was a good scratchbuild, but that makes it a little optimistic for my standard of work (which is... average at best) Anvilus that actually looks ace and is good to see the scale of other's conversions to see what might look good. Zincite thanks that helps a lot actually to know it's a decent size without having to waste the money on the model. Grotsmasha, Olisredan, that is my back up plan for sure. Validar
A friend of mine was working on his ghost arch the other day. I caught a look at the gun that he wouldn't be using and pondered why it had to be so huge. I saw this thread. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/242721-conversion-beamer/#findComment-2935300 Share on other sites

Solid Zaku
When doing mine, I had a bit that I came across in somebodies bitz box that I thought would eventually look cool on something. It did. He said it was from a BFG kit. I believe it's a Nova Cannon, but I'm not 100% This image of it is very poor. It's taken from an attempted movie I did of it with a shoddy camera. I have access to my actual camera equipment in two weeks, but that's a bit long. I will still post it up when I get back. Made by GW in the 90's I have a couple of those old Beamers as well, I think that the advanced Space Crusade Chaos Dread came with one, lying around somewhere...
