Foam's Rune Priests

Hey guys,

 

Here are a couple of Rune Priests i've been working on the past few days. I've got my inspiration from Wolf Lord Mjolnir and Dave Taylor from www.space-wolves-grey.blogspot.com. I'm pretty happy with the way they've turned out considering its my first attempt using green stuff and i've been out of the hobby for about 5 years. The only thing i'm not big on is the fact the Force Weapons look more like Croziuses. Oh well, C&C welcomes and enjoy!

This was going to be a test model but I kinda liked the way he turned out, I basically destroyed my old black templar dreadnought, magnetised, and made him all wolfey :D

Very nice work foam, that rune priest is a nice twist on the classic shoulderpad hood technique. I've seen some attempts at that come out looking a bit messy in the past, but with yours the GS work covers any slip you may have had with the collar/psychic hood.

 

The chaos warrior cloak is a cracking Idea too and works well with the greenstuffing.

 

The only teeny critique I could give is that the rune staff looks a bit static or unnatural in its position. Its kinda got that position people take when carrying a religious relic, but the other hand is the focal/aiming point of the model. If I could change anything, I'd work to having either both arms holding the staff in that pose (would look like an awesome 'psychic duel' kind of pose) or alternatively and likely much easier, change the staffs position so its angled naturally for his posture.

 

Other than that, thats fantastic work, I'm inspired, its off to the workshop for me this weekend, I've got some khorne bikers to convert, thanks for the motivation!

Definitely liking the rune priest, though I feel you should add some rod to the bottom to make his staff look a little longer. Now it looks more like a crozius.

Those rhinos are freehand ;)

That makes them even more amazing
