I'm gonna say it will be in January.. as things usually get pretty hectic around the holidays, and its creeping in. And what better way to start the new year with a painting vow? The Winters Advance to be more precise! stay tuned.

that and people might get minis for xmas :tu:

Im defiantly in for the vow btw.

I should have a lot to paint after christmas so count me in

I'm new here, how does this work?

Yoou take a vow to paint something within the timescale set then post a picture of the miniature in the thread when done. Normally there is a little pic to add to sig to say you achieved your vow

WOW

@ freakiq- that alot of minis to paint. But i dont think you going to set an oath for 3k of model right... ^_^ . 10 grey hunter with a vehicle is considered good enough. But if you are a master painter.. why not. That would be awesome. Good to see people waiting for such event.. get people into a painting mood.

I've already spoken to Max about making us all a new token. However I wont reveal it until I start the new Winter's Advance thread. We can't have a painting vow, without having Max involved some how or the other! anyway, I'll open up a new thread on the 29th for sign-up. It should be good since it's right after Christmas and Boxing day. Also a good way to kick-off 2012 with a painting competition, pack expansion. The start date, will be on the Dec 29th, 2011 and the painting deadline will be on Feb 29th, 2012. It should be enough time for everyone to get something finished with their vow(s).

Will there be any point/pack/whatever minimum??

End of Line

Last time i only entered a Wolfguard with wolfclaws, as thats all i had time for, this year wont be any diffrent so there is no minimum, some people have limited time so one higher end model will be fine, just dont start with just one Grey hunter or a wolf :P
well not that i can recall. But just keep it at a decent amount. Give your oath abit of a challenge. Better double check with max.

Exactly. Whether it's a single model painted really well or an entire squad painted to table top standards, so long as you make an oath that seems reasonably challenging for a 2 month period (subjective per persons' skill levels) and it gets finished, you're good.

I'm doing a Tale of x Gamers with some friends where I'm painting up 3000p 'til the summer.

The amount of models I'll paint during the oath depends on how long it'll last.

I expect to paint at least a thousand points for it though.

I failed my last oath as I was called away on Scout business and broke my hand whilst on operations (or at work, your pick) so I'm eager to regain my honour, even if it is a twisted and dark honour.

I should also be able to afford paints come Christmas, got 750 points of Wolves ready to go barring their bases (need to get some nifty ones off ebay).

Finally a reason to paint again. The last full model I painted was the old school Bjorn for the last challenge and I havent done more than put a little paint on a few things since then. I hate painting. But the challenge seems to be motivating for me. You can count me in when it starts.

*Starts looking for unpainted models laying around*

Ok, Ulrik, GWs Leman Russ, 2 metal Wolf Guard and the old Wolf Helm sgt. Thats a Special character and retinue, should be good enough right?

Good to see that everyone is pretty eager to take their oath. I would painting at most a squad & a LR maybe. We shall see once max has post up the detail. Cant wait really.

@freakiq- that cool to know... getting 1k finish is a difficult task to accomplish specially within 2 month. But you have my support that for sure. Go for it man. Make sure you get your camera ready.
