Wow, really impressive work on the weathering! Also like the looming pose on the DC Dread, it's quite static but in my head it comes across as 'I've just butchered my way through 4 squads of the enemy, I'll take a quick breather and then go find the next lot' ^_^

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It takes patience but it's not extremely difficult. Start with a smooth base coat, the red has probably 15 layers over a black primer working from mechrite up to pure blood red. After the base is done, black line everything with watered down black. Mix 50/50 scorched/black, and use small piece of foam (I e. Model case foam) to blot random "damage"'. Apply mithril silver in random spots within scorched/black blots.

That's the basics, when I have time I'll try to do tutorial.

Thanks again

Urgh! I thought that dread was going to get me when I opened this page  I like the way you have the black paint chipping back to the red underneath, very Death Co. did I see your DC marine dudes a few months back on here using the same technique?

I like

Yes, I did the DC as well

Those look SICK! Did you use anything to highlight the red? I really like it and I'm trying to decide on what to highlight my BAs. I'm not too sure about using orange.

Thank you,

I do not highlight the red at all, just straight blood red out of the bottle. Orange highlights make them look orange if your not careful.
