old git
Fenris isn't snow or ice bound all the time. There are times during the great year that would equate, roughly, to spring, summer or autumn. Why not go for a tundra theme, with rocks, fir/pine trees etc. That way you're not restricted to snow/ice themed games and armies. Canis Majoris
I've allways wanted to make a themed base from the first omnibus book. The scene on the longboat...men of fenris rowing in a viscious storm, a young ragnar knocked to the floor in absolute awe as the stranger in black armour ( a wolf priest ) slays a mighty kraken with a wave of his magic talisman. ( a bolt pistol ). To me that would just be the most epic scene :pinch: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243024-the-surface-of-fenris/#findComment-2938533 Share on other sites
WyrdWolf
let me know how this goes, i'm going to be working on a Fenris themed table for a gaming convention that's happening in January, aptly named "snowcon". I think the tundra idea is great, maybe some geothermal geysers, or a crevasse or two as impassible terrain. old git
I don't know the number but there can't be that many times that the wolves have actually battled on their own world. Like other chapters they are most likely to be on campaign or patrol for extended periods, therefore the likelihood of battling on an icy field are the same as any other type of terrain. I know it looks cool to have nordic themed marines on nordic themed terrain but it doesn't have to be that way all the time. Wysten
Just carve nordic engraving on whatever surface you find. These small markings could last for many years afterwards and serve to inspire the people left behind. So that when trouble comesaknocking, they know that the protectors of humanity will not be far off.
