Sisters Super Heavy

Dread

Recommended Posts

I have waited and waited for GW do do anything with the sisters and finally they have. The data sheets are nice at least. But I still waited for some sort of super heavy. So I created my own. The Main cannon on the turret is called the incenerator cannon and uses the hellstrom template same rules as the chaos counter part. I replaced the lascannons with twin-linked heavy flamers and put a multimelta turret on top of the main turret. The only thing I'm not happy with is the way I did the conversion on the main cannon. Here are some pics. I'm thinking about making an exorcist missile launcher also part of it and shouldn't change the points value since losing the lascannons. Also I need a good name for this, help please.

You know, from a 'quasi-practical' technical perspective, the array of small burners you've mounted on the turret doesn't look like it could launch a coherent jet of flame far enough to warrent the firestorm template. Something like what they've mounted on the the infernus ( http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-4000...R-INFERNUS.html ) or one of these ( http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-4000...RNO-CANNON.html ) would seem more suitable. You might take a nod from the fuel tank idea too, a trailer like a Churchill Crocodile.

The melta-turret seems mismatched with the rest of the design and looks like it would create a bit of a bullet trap near its ring. I'd delete it and replace the sponson mounted flamers with twin multi-meltas. You could consider remangling the turret after removing the melta-hatch and the storm-bolter ring as a prominent location to mount the excorcist battery.

The side look like they'd lend themselves to devotional murals, and those would really sell the concept.

LOL this is great. After I posted this I took the flamers off and put twin-linked multi-meltas and put an exorcist on the upper gunner. As for the flame cannon, I agree completely but didn't want to spend a but load of money for one piece. I own so much GW stuff now I have reached a point were I feel they are pricing themselves out of business. So until I come up with something I can convert, I will use the flamer fan, that's what I call it, until then. Thanks for the responses every one

if you took out the front HB turret, and swapped for the misplaced MM turret up top. then use plastic tubing to extend the "flamestorm" cannon to reach past the turret canopy of said MM turret. Would be better looking aesthetically. And give you a Infernus looking SoB heavy tank
I have the flame cannon from a Baal I want to use but it is still small, so I am going to take a couple pieces of tubing I have and some extra pieces from a vulcan mega bolter and construct this. Hmm, wait, why not just use the vulcan mega bolter instead. It is a bolter after all and the sisters are all about them too. This would fix everything and the modeling nightmare will come to an end. What do y'all think? Could call it the pentinent bolter and make it a hvy 12 at BS 4 but not the doulble shots if it doesn't move.

So I decided not to take the easy way out and after 3 1/2 hours I would like to introduce to you the FLAME BLADE Sisters of Battle super heavy complete with the incinerator cannon and exorcist missile launcher.

I will begin paint shortly. Thanks to all who have helped with comments and a user on dakkadakka that actually came up with the easy exorcist launcher conversion.

Proper job on the new flame cannon.

When you talked of the excorxist rack, I thought you meant one of the old Organs. This new version still has the out of place bullet trapness to it. The Apoc. book has a special character baneblade for Yarrik that has a kinda throne thingy on it, I imagined that with the organ assembly where Yarrik is.

I still think it needs more fuel tank. Take one of these ( http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-4000...-HELLHOUND.html ) and replace the turret with a hose connection to the back of the baneblade chassis and affix a tow hitch to the front of the tank trailer and a ring to the back of the baneblade. If yer gonna burn a whole bunch o heritics, yer gonna need enough of the Emperor's fuel to go around. Alteranatively, the concept might work on an ordinary chimera chassis and a kit-bash with a model train tanker car.

Used the vulcan mega bolter assemly cut down to fit in the bane blade hole, igniters from the baal flamestorm cannon and fuel tanks. Aluminum tubing I got at hobby lobby and a piece of plasty card.

I like the trailer idea but for gaming purposes I will stick with this. I own some much of this stuff it is getting harder to turn lose of any cach for anymore. I may try to make my own tho. As for the exorcist, I disliked that model when it came out, I own one but the one I converted using a whirlwind is my favorite. I like the forge world exorcist but again, money. Thanks

I actually put the smaller tanks for the igniters and believe teh actual promethium tank is inside the vehicle in the area where the battle cannon would have been. Also removed the skull from the front and added another hatch to show where you would refill the main tank. It's a little lame explaination but think it'll work.

Oh BTW we renamed the cannon, it is called the Purifier.
