So, here's a question, as it is related to this topic. If Azrael and Belial went down in the same battle,who would takeover? Sammy, or someone who is selected as a successor by the Watchers?

 

According to older fluff, it is always assumed that Unforgiven Dreadnaughts of sufficient age and circle standing, would always act as a safety net. If an extreme set of deaths were to occur to the most high level people and their successors, the Inner Circle would make their decision, and the final "reveal" as it were, would be made by the Ancients who have either held the rank of SGM, or who may have walked along side the Legion before during The Great Scouring. Their near immortality and weight of secretive responsibilty would aid the chapter(s) during their darkest times, and provide the needed truths to the one who commands all the Unforgiven.
