Jupiter Forge
I remember reading the Iron Snakes novel and it was excellent (so good choice on the army!), these models look great - so keep it up! khakisuperbunny
Are you watching closely? As requested, some more photos of my Iron Snakes, both completed and...not so completed... First up, what you guys have been commenting on the most - The Bike Squadron: NEXT! My Razorback - this guy was a pain, it all started when I primed with a waterproof primer, meaning my initial washes and layers fly right off the model ( <--lots of that was going on)...but, many hours of work later, and I've got something fairly presentable: Chief Librarian Petrok! My first Chaplain, My work in progress - Dedication to Furioso-Prime (who is here, but isn't here, but is here... )...I wanted to try and capture some motion here, and I realise the Sanguinery Death Mask with the Spartan Mohawk is a risk - but I think it will work out when he's painted... Next up - the first 5 of my 10 man Terminator Assault Squad 'Skypio' - with round shields and spears as counts as storm shields and thunder hammers: And the rest - this may not be all the models I've competed - so many tactical troops - so little time! And last, but certainly not the least - what I have so far - to add are 24 Bolter Marines and the 5 Terminators mentioned earlier... I got a whole lotta painting to do... Till next time Khaki Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243197-khakis-iron-snakes-project/page/3/#findComment-3508114 Share on other sites

khakisuperbunny
I remember reading the Iron Snakes novel and it was excellent (so good choice on the army!), these models look great - so keep it up! Hi Jupiter, Thank you very much! I admit that Brothers of the Snake was a huge inspiration and really zeroed my focus on which army it was I really wanted to do! awesome, and kudos on the freehand snake! that is impressive! you definitely have a real solid vision for these guys. Gawd i miss 40k Thank you friend, I'm not really a fan of the transfers that are available for the Iron Snakes, which only left me with one option really and 40k misses you! Excellent work. I like the Razorback with the Mk.I Rhino hull. Thanks again Kierdale, I thought it wasn't something you usually see in the forums so I thought why the hell not! I realised this morning re-reading the big update a couple of things. 1) I need to get more photos of the Razorback and Brother Furioso, Champion of the Iron Snakes (to show details and the movement I spoke about on the Champion) 2) In my rush to upload everything last night (it was getting late - so sue me) I forgot to mention each of the models will have their own little backstory, something which I think adds to the individualness of the models - watch this space on that one however, although the background info on the models will only be a few words, it's sadly time thats in short supply these days! 3) The reason I still have 20+ bolter marines to make is because I'm waiting on bits - something which is a must for me is to make each model unique with little added extras - that and I wanted to make sure I had all the bases covered when it comes to marines with a weapon other than a Bolter. Thats it folks, you wont be hearing from me now until I do some more painting, or if someone wants a question answered. Until then! Khaki! WingsOfTheFalcon
That is even more awesome than I expected. Great work fella, really makes me want to get my Iron Snakes reboot back on track! Â The razorback in particular is brilliant, great use of the greek decorative motifs on it. Â Keep it up, they look amazing. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243197-khakis-iron-snakes-project/page/3/#findComment-3508526 Share on other sites
khakisuperbunny
Howdy, just a small update tonight I'm afraid. First up - Captain Phobor of Skypio It's odd - in real life I'm actually quite proud of Phobor, however photo-wise I'm not happy - and I'm least happy about is face in these photos, it looks like his face has melted!..I really need to get my proper camera working and stop using my phone. Next up is the third member of squad Skypio - yet to be named... The last model tonight is Phraty Champion Captain Furioso... That's it for now - I want to start on my tactical squads, but I'm working on individualising them so they'll most likely be the last ones I paint while I wait for parts etc. to become available to me. Till next time my friends. Good niiight... Tonal
Captain Furioso reminds of the Ordinators from Morrowind, what with the awesome metal deathmask and crest.
