fire magnet Posted December 8, 2011 Share Posted December 8, 2011 After months thinking of it, finally getting something on paper, well, screen. i'll start of with my questions then give my (very) rough draft. 1. What sounds better, The Morning Lords or Lords of the Morning? i'm thinking the first as its shorter, and could just be Morning Lords. 2. Whats the White scars successor thats all in purple power armour? doom eagles? 3. What founding are these "doom eagles"? Founding-???, After the "doom eagles" Gene seed- The Khan, through the eagles, not directly white scars Homeworld- Chubu, feral world, based on feudal japan. Very loosely. Colours - metalic purple- Doom eagle colours, gold trim- sunrise, when they made planetfall on their new homeworld. Emnity ( is that a word? as i say in note 1, below, i'm in my beers ), hatred of the Emprors Childeren, once colour scheme is established, to reclaim the regal purple and gold for the empror. Region of space - somewhere around the orks, but with some chaos to battle emprors children, Pacifica? Basic idea Founded from the Doom eagles, a cadre of marines takes charge of newly created scouts, given a small fleet they set out to find a homeworld. Small encounters along the way give some scouts the chance to become true marines. Pick up a distress call from a feral world, thinking the same kind of set up as the distress call in Abnetts IRON SNAKES. Like the world doesnt understand the tech involved, just the ritual to make it happen. Arrival at planet is a disaster. A small ork WAAAAAGH! is decending on the planet, the ship containing most of the heavy gear (tanks, terminator armour, dreadnought sarcophigi, most of the techmarines) is destroyed almost as soon as they break warp transition in the outer system. Not sure but thinking a collision with an ork space hulk, or goes down fighting and takes out a good chunk of ork vessles, preventing the main body of the WAAAAAGH! reaching the planet, which would give a new chapter with no heavy gear a chance against it. Arrival on the planet is met with good cheer(they arrive at dawn). The Shoguns from the stars, warriors only remembered in tale and song from a distant past, are accepted immidatley, nothing like an ork at the door to make even an 8 foot tall protohuman offering aid and asking to come in and take over look like a good deal. Orks are beaten, using traditional White Scar methods as there is no heavy support. Essential in this are the librarium (gate power). local troops help greatly, samuri impress the marines with their skill and determination. Decission made to recruit from this world. Time passes, librarium is lauded and has good numbers. Chaplins are less important, empror is seen as the ultimate shogun, nothing more than a great general with an impassioned vision. techmarines are honoured, as before blacksmiths were, crafting excellent samuri weapons. Ultimate result- librarian and tech marine heavy chapter, using quick strike tactics. Techmarines join in battle as battle brothers rather than as repairers as there is an emphasis on fast strike rather than heavy support repairers. Battle brothers are like an arrow, can be at rest (in the quiver) and somewhat like salamanders/wolves in their regard to civillians, or focused (aimed at target) and releasing their fury. Good idea/bad idea? Note 1, excuse the spelling as i'm a few beers in. Note 2, i will also be posting a 1500 point army in codex marines as an example of a task force for The Morning Lords - Morning Lords - The Lords of the Morning Note 3, if you read the wheel of time series yes i got my idea from Rand Al'Thor " Lord of the morning, Prince of Dawn" etc etc Thanl you in advance for any comments/ideas. Hrvat Posted December 8, 2011 Share Posted December 8, 2011 Hello :) Doom Eagles are an Ultramarine second founding chapter in "silver" armour with a notion they are allready dead while they serve the chapter - http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Doom_Eagles#.TuEvPVZuJjQ A purple chapter that you might be thinking of are Hawk Lords - http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Hawk_Lords#.TuEvjVZuJjQ There is no purple White Scar successor and the only known successors are Marauders, Destroyers, Rampagers, Mantis Warriors, Storm Lords and Iron Talons, none of which are purple. Apart from these little bits the basic draf seems ok. Well i guess i'm free with the time line/ sucessors thing then, just make up my own Scars decendents ( wearing purple ) that i'm decendent from.
