Created in the 23rd founding to be a ship bourne assault force to protect the frontiers and snatch back settled worlds recently invaded, before they are fortified, to board space hulks and hunt out pirates.

Born of the Blood Angels geneseed the Chapter has escaped the Black Rage but suffer the red thirst, a trait which appears to have been bred into them for their foricity in assaulting forces but in turn has lead to them being seen by some as barbaric, even being attacked as unpure by some......others whisper the word vampire.

They wander through the sector, avenging fallen worlds and avoiding drawing unwanted attention to theirselves. This has led to the Chapter making use of older equipment instead of it being replaced with more modern conterparts. Often the Chapters techmarines will repair and assimilate damaged equipment from other Imperial sources found on the fields of battle or in space hulks encountered.

How does chapter fight?

Fast assault. Some heavy support available but masters of the hit and run.

No drop pods and few remaining Thunderhawks.

hmmm I am not quite sure where to start. I think the best way would be if you could provide anwsers to a few of my questions.

Blood Angels suffer from the curse and other though not aware of the exact nature of the curse know that the geneseed has degraded. Adeptus Mechanius is quite likely completely aware considering it has been rumoured that Lamenters were an atempt of the 21st founding to get rid of the Flaw. So could you please anwser why would High Lords of Terra usea a "susupicious" geneseed, when they have tons of more reliable geneseed?

This is like saying your guys are better than Blood Angels. Am I right to assume that you are trying to say that no case of Black Rage has occured yet in their history but they suffer the efects of the Red Thrist much more than say Blood Angels?

Could you please explain the "bred into" part. Are you trying to say someone tampered with their geneseed thus freeing them of the Black Rage but leaving them aflicted by the Red Thrist?

Who attacked them? This could be a pretty significant about your warriors.

 

edit @ I saw that one of their opponents are SoB/Inq. Are they the ones that attacked them? Have your guys been excomunicated?

 

 

 

 

I see your ideas trying to depict a vicious Blood Angel descendant patroling places where they will almost certainly find conflict to went their fury. They are also in a way pariahs, since they lack equipment and based on what you have writen mostly rely on Assault Squads, Bikes and Land Speeders. A Chapter having no Drop Pods and few Thunderhawks will really be challenged in performing their duties. You should probably expand how they circumvent these obstacles.

 

The most important thing I believe you need to do is explain their current status concerning equipment and their relations with other Imperial institutions.

 

Basic ideas are fine not it just remains for them to get developed and explained in a belieavble manner.

The reason behind the use of the Blood Angel geneseed was to use the aggression caused by the flaws, the idea was that they would be the ideal watchdogs, ready to bite and strike without the usual weeks of planning, an almost feral instinct. The tampering caused by forces unknown have shown the thirst to manifest itself not just on the battlefield but also outside of combat so they don't stay in one system so it is much worse in ways than what the BA have.

 

The reason they are lacking in equipment is they try to stay away from places where their flaws are open to questions, a world ravaged by Orks or DE are less likely to question their saviours than an Imperial supply outpost or major military station.

 

They had been attacked by a SoB force who witnessed the Chapter in a frenzy wiping out an Imperial Guard outpost that had been corrupted by Chaos. The SoB was wiped out but not before a distress call had been sent.

They have not been excommunicated yet but they are always one step in front of any investigating forces.
