On the first day of Christmas....

That is an awesome cover. I love the ships in mid battle and... Wait, is that the Phalanx? I don't think leading the charge would be Sigismund (for one BL tend steer away from showing iconic characters except on a few occasions or with Primarchs, and two, I'm pretty sure Sigismund used a sword.

Pretty sure this is the 3rd time of posting, but no its not the Phalanx because Dorn took it to Terra with him :)

Damn! That would've been awesome.

Wait. How do you know this isn't before/after that? Didn't the whole of the Fists go to Terra with Dorn? And he left Terra to go to Istvaan, so it could be the Phalanx. Maybe. Hopefully.

According to Flight of the Eisenstein Dorn sends Sigismund to Istvaan, then took the Phalanx to Terra with Garro and co. Sigismunds fleet got held up by warp storms and ended up in the Phall system, where they set up a base and were going to head to Istvaan from there, but then the Iron Warriors attacked. Lots of ships gots blown up on both sides, then Sigismunds fleet got a call from Terra ordering them to return to the Sol system and link with Dorn. Not sure what happens then, i think the Fists just stayed at Terra to reinforce it, but sometime after Sigismund and another captain land on Mars in the events of Mechanicus.

It would be awesome to see the Phalanx in action though

In the novel Mechanicum. It states sigmund was on terra with dorn. He was involved in attempting to retake mars from the dark mechanicum. As the loyalist forces there were losing.

He was recalled to Terra after being sent to Istvaan to investigate what had happened according to the new fluff on the heresy, even then we do not know the timeline that well, especailly since Outcast Dead was released as that has screwed up the sequence of events for me lol

Very, very nice. Lovin' the unified Mk 2/3 Helms.

Shame it'll be cut up and we'll only see a fraction of it on the cover of the book, if the Primarches book was anything to go by.

Probably look something like this ;)

That actually looks pretty awesome. Who did that? Did you do that?

Yeah I did it, it´s not the right fonts or anything, just added the box and title acordingly with how the other covers look. Gives a picture of how the final product might look. I think it will be a great cover. i love how that Imperial Fist in the middle are looking up, towards his next target... Makes a good focal point for the image...

Still looks really cool. You deserve a title. How about Lord Sponsra of Photo Shop (ping)... Or something better. :tu:

I'm going to take a quick guess and say that that might not be the official cover.... Very nice! :P

Anybody else surprised at the level of ornamentation on the Iron Warrior on the left? I thought they were supposed to not be interested in that sort of stuff, just in practicality? Ah well, more fuel for my Slaaneshi band of Iron Warriors...

Doesn't look it has all that much ornamentation to me.

Also just wanted to say well done, Sponsra. I especially liked the "Edited by Rogal Dorn" bit.

I meant the one on the full poster. The one with raised swirling details all over his arm and chestpiece.

I don't think that's the phalanx, for one simple reason, the IF are boarding the ship. why on earth would they board their own ship when so far fluff tells us they have never lost control of it?

Still, I'm eager to get my hands on that novel, finally something about the fists from start to end.

Well, it doesn´t seem to be a novel. It´s all short stories and novellas so it´s probably not all about IF. From the BL website: From the battlefields of Phall and Isstvan, to the haunted shadows of Terra itself – the Horus Heresy rages on across the galaxy in this collection of short stories and novellas.
