Nym468
Look man, all this is great but that Mortis Contemptor is hells yeah. Thanks, both the Contemptors are from Betrayal at Calth. Each has magnetized arms so I can do weapon swaps. The mortis one was the first of the Calth dreadnoughts. I did a little bit of cutting and sculpting. The running dreadnought is definitely my favorite. I cut him into a lot of pieces in order to get that running pose. I really wish the standard dreadnoughts had more poseability. Nym468
I'm back. The hobby hasn't stopped I just haven't posted in a very long time. The Ultramarines are going strong and my pile of opportunity remains a small mountain. One miniature at a time. I have no real idea where I left off and what is new so I've decided I'm going to kind of inventory all of my collection as time allows. So without further ado here is the first Games Workshop miniature I ever painted in the late 1990's. The Anniversary Imperial Space Marine Next up are members of Chapter Command. Tyrannic War Veterans Company I Squad I I don't think these models will officially be staying in Chapter, I'm generally not very happy with them after the years since I first painted them. They'll just be quietly retired and the squad number given over to another batch of marines. Company I Squad II These will be getting some touch up in the future including a wash on the helmets and potentially painting over the yellow wings on their chest for gold. Company I Squad III This squad is a mix of the old finecast and the plastic Sternguard kit. Company I Squad IV These marines were my answer to scout sergeants whose aspirants had either completed their training or been killed in action. This squad is likely to be replaced down the road. Company I Squad V These are my repurposing of the Dark Vengeance Dark Angels Terminators plus the Forge World Lugft Huron model as their Sergeant. A bit of edge highlighting is in the future for these terminators. Company I Squad VII These are the miniatures that got me back into the hobby and in all the years since I still haven't finished out the squad. I'm not even sure I have any close combat terminators anywhere. Look out wallet I'm heading to eBay. These guys will definitely be getting a bit of a refresh to update their look and the quality of the paint job. Company I Squad VIII Finecast Vanguard Vets that absolutely refuse to stand up for longer than three seconds. Some edge highlighting is in order primarily on all the metallics and I'd like to clean up their helmets. Company I Squad IX These are all finecast miniatures, a little bit of clean up for yellows to golds and some edge highlighting on the metallics. That's all for now. I'm working on getting photos of the other squads put together. As always C&Cs welcome. Nym468
Today, we have the current status of the 2nd Company. First up we have the members of the command squad. Current Apothecary, Techmarine, Chaplain, and Librarian Company II Squad I These marines were the first unit I painted as a teenager in the 90's Company II Squad II These marines are the first tactical squad I completed when I returned to the hobby. Company II Squad III Company II Squad IV These marines are all Forge World resin before the sculpts were moved over to plastic. Company II Squad V This squad is using the Forge World breachers kit. Company II Squad VI This squad is still a few marines short but the Sergeant is one of the special edition sculpts that came out and I couldn't resist. Company II Squad VII Company II Squad VIII I have more bikes in the pile of grey opportunity, I'll get to them eventually. Company II Squad IX Company II Squad X That's all for now. I'll post the remaining squads across the various companies soon. Now its on to photographing all the vehicles. C & C's always welcome. Nym468
This weekend we have the rest of the Chapter. Company III Captain (Web Exclusive), Chaplain, and Librarian Company III Squad I This is the tactical squad from the Dark Vengeance box set. I removed all the Dark Angels iconography. Company III Squad II Company III Squad III Company III Squad VII Company IV Captain (Web Exclusive) and Chaplain Company IV Squad I Company IV Squad VII Company IV Squad IX Company V Captain Company V Squad VII Company V Squad VIII Company VI Captain (Captain Centos) and Chaplain (Betrayal at Calth) Company VIII Chaplain Company VIII Squad I I'm on the hunt for one for Landspeeder to finish out the squad. Company VIII Squad II When I'm made of money I'll have a full 10 man squad of Landspeeder Tempests. :) Company IX Squad II Company IX Squad III Company X Squad I These are the old metal sculpts. This squad originally was painted like the inside of a Crayola box because at the time I bought them (mid 90's) I didn't have any color artwork of a unit of scouts. And yes I realize they are over strength. Company X Squad IV Company XI Captain Decimus Felix My head canon is the Chapter I have represents the status during the Indomitus Crusade. One of descriptions of Decimus Felix lists him having light blue shoulder trim thus a new company. I'm aiming to keep all first born marines and primaris marines in separate companies.
