Amadeo
does that mean with Pedro Kantor that they are considered a troop choice, or do they still count as elites in an Army List? I know "scoring' means able to hold objectives.... just learning the rules and trying to compose a list with emphasis on sternguard and finding the best options to utilize them Thanks in advance... Validar
wrong board  Yes, they are still elite choices for all intents and purposes. The only difference is that they can hold objectives (or complete other things that require a "scoring" unit, if you're playing other missions). IE you still need two troop choices in your list. Something Wycked
Validar has it right; compare the verbage of Kantor's rule to, say, the rules of Coteaz, Crowe, or Draigo, which come right out and say that a non-Troops unit in the Codex is now a Troops choice with that HQ. As for the best way to utilize Sternguard, I have some reading suggestions for you: Sternguard tactical analysis. Kantor armies discussion, Kantor armies discussion #2. Sternguard weapon loadout discussion. Unit synergies thread, that has several posts dealing with Sternguard. Other IC's that can be used to good effect with Sternguard.
