red_starrise Posted December 16, 2011 Share Posted December 16, 2011 Ok, so at the local tournament last week my Iron Warriors Raptor champion not only managed to survive being shot & assaulted by a big mob of lootas & was the last man standing of his squad, he then beat all of them down w/ his powerfist & proceeded to make a final turn out of time run across the board at breakneck speed & contest the enemy objective to allow the tie which then went down to kill points, tie again, then victory points which gave me the win. This let me finish the tourney at third place. So, as such, I'm buiding a traitor guard army & as a commendation he got promoted to a Lt. & was put in command of the Iron Legion strike company. He plays as Iron Hand Straken in game terms. The right (his left) arm is the servo arm/powerfist, next to that it is the plasma cutter, then you've got the loader arm for the thunderfire itself holding 4 shells in the magazine attached to it. It's off a khador warjack so I liked the spring loaded ammo fed look to resemble the rounds being pushed through the barrel by the plunger into the thunderfire when it's put in place behind the empty breach. Well, maybe, but w/ the stuff I'm getting for christmas allowing me to build an IG army & my desire to make them renegades & paint them in a way that complements my Iron Warriors I thought it'd be cool to have him promoted to lead them & then I can use Straken's rules w/out the odd model.
