Mortifis
Greetings and salutations. I know I'm not the first person to think of doing this, and I'm sure I won't be the last. Thunderwolves using Juggernauts as steeds. So I've come into possession of a large number of Space Wolves bits to start making an army, and a small but growing number of Juggernauts (plastic and otherwise)... The biggest thing that keeps stumping me is how to put the riders on the blasted beasts. Even biker legs don't actually sit around the body of the juggers. I've got some photos to share, with two different poses. First pose: standard legs, sawn in half, tacked together. Mockup body sitting on top. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Cauldron__born/SL370613.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Cauldron__born/SL370612.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Cauldron__born/SL370610.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Cauldron__born/SL370611.jpg Second pose is a bit more drastic: Space Wolf legs standing on top of the hind quarters, with the body on top, grasping a chain run from the collar of the animal. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Cauldron__born/SL370606.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Cauldron__born/SL370608.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Cauldron__born/SL370609.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Cauldron__born/SL370607.jpg I'm slightly partial towards the standing one, but I don't know if I'm being realistic in this. How can I make either of these look more natural? What have other people used for the legs on Jugger-Riders? Am I better of just melting them down? :) [Edit] Or, radical idea - just have the Space Wolf standing next to the Jugger, sharing the same base? Olgerth Istaarn
I've built four of these, one using SM legs and the other three using Chaos Knights legs. Yes, they are loyalists on debranded juggernauts, hee hee haw haw and all that. If you are using regular SM legs, greenstuff a saddle. It'll make positioning a lot easier. If you are using Chaos Knights legs, which with some filing and greenstuffing pass perfectly well for power armor, you'll just need to trim some plastic from the inside of the legs because the juggernaut is more stout than a horse. There will be a sizeable gap between the saddle and the juggernaut's body on the rear, which you can cover with strategically placed saddlebags from Scout Bikers sprue, and assorted holsters and other bling.
