Bloodcrusade
Hello Brothers, I have decided to revitalize my army with fresh paint jobs and models, so why not start a WIP blog-style thread as well. So far I have just about finished converting/painting my early Christmas gift, an Inquisitor Coteaz finecast. WIP before I started painting, just got done removing the =][= from legs, stomach, book, and hammer. Please excuse the fuzzyness of the shots, old camera syndrome  I tried a bit of OLS by turning his Hourglass into a Lantern, banish the grimdark and stuff. Pretty happy with how he's turned out so far. I'm up in the air with his other arm though, I feel like doing something with it but I don't know what, seen it made to hold a storm shield, sword, and other things but I don't know what I want him to be doing. I think for now I am going to just paint up his bird-arm and put it on until I make up my mind on it. Also debating what to put to replace his =][= buckle on his stomach, was thinking the little crux on the bottom left of the unpainted shot, but I am enjoying how he is with-out anything there. Makes it a simpler style model, more basic. Thoughts? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243722-the-blood-crusade/ Share on other sites
Sushichef
Made me want to get him too. :) I'd choose the stormshield, combat shield or a custom GS shield for his birdy arm. And the crux on the right would be fitting in my opinion. Bloodcrusade
Well glad I inspired you Sushi, thanks :D I tried the one on the right, but it doesn't quite fit center, little too wide. Thinking just leave it for now as he really doesn't need the cross there, but who knows I might change my mind and redo him to have it there. I'm just having his Birdy arm put on for now, I'll see about picking up a ForgeWorld SS down the road but for now he's not playing in any tournaments, so the bird will be a count-as SS  In other news, was thinking about doing Murals on the sides/tops of my vehicles, so did a test run on a Rhino hatch: Don't think it turned out too bad, photo is suffering from same fuzzy syndrome but I'll live with it. Much cleaner lines in person. Thinking I'll try doing some Faux Green/Black Marble on another hatch or side-door and see how that looks. Roma
In the grim darkness of the far future, there are pretty canvas-paintings on sides of battle tanks... Its a nice freehand, but how are you planning to fit that into your army?? Jackpet
That's some nice looking design on your Rhino! :) But it might just look a tad out of place in a Black Templars force.. Bloodcrusade
Thanks Roma and Jackpet  Â It was more of a test to see if it wouldn't look bad on the rhino itself more than trying to fit it into the army when I did it. I liked how it came out so I started on a river of fire on another rhino which would fit in just fine, the mountain scene will probably be either redone or become the razorback of the group. I could throw a couple of Drop Pods coming down in the background with some daemons/Xenos or something in the front right, like a planet just becoming under drop assault by the Templars and the side doors could show the world before/after the cleansing. Â I just want my AV to be more when looked at on the field other than just the normal Crusader transports 1, 2, and 3. A good Mural would definitely make them pop I think. We'll see how all the test schemes go before I decide what direction I want to go with them. Sushichef
It looks nice. But not very fitting. Buy LRC and paint the other side armour FULLY into a space picture. Would be awesome. I like your freehand. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243722-the-blood-crusade/#findComment-2949319 Share on other sites
Bloodcrusade
Well I've been putting off working on the Crusade for too long, luckily the annual LPC came around to kick me in the right direction. Some WIP shots to follow, starting with the opening of my Christmas gift to me, the Megaforce: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243722-the-blood-crusade/#findComment-2978327 Share on other sites
