Victoria Pro Mortuis!

Greetings brothers,

I've recently started work on my Blood Angels successor chapter, the Black Angels. When it is complete, I will link to the full IA article but for now suffice it to say that the Black Angels see themselves as the true heirs of the legacy of the Blood Angels Legion. They are ever-mournful, and in constant remembrance of the loss of Sanguinius and of their dead brothers-in-arms. As such the Legion paint their armor black to demonstrate their loss. There are a few exceptions to this, but I will cover that as the project moves along.

Thank you for looking. I appreciate your comments and critique.

First of all - hail and welcome to B&C, brother. Second, the paintwork is competantly done, it covers all the bases - it's neat, it's highlighted, the colour scheme is muted but works very well and you have managed to do the eyes on the first model quite well. As for critique, you need to do the scriptwork still, just a few squiggles of black goes a long way in making a model look finished. Also, it appears you still need to drill out the barrels of the hand flamers (I can't tell with the other pistols on display, the angle is wrong). Besides highlighting the metals, there isn't much more to say, paint-wise.

The concept of your army seems well thought out so far and with a paint scheme to back it up, you've got the ball rolling. Keep it up. ;)

Thank you for the input!

I am doing this project in a bit of an odd way. This army is being built solely to participate in a campaign that some good friends and I are going to begin playing in January. As such, our time is short so I am doing my best to simply get them to a standard that I can be satisfied with to play. Then, as time allows, I will put more work into them, such as gun drilling, micron pen scripting and more elaborate bases.

So it will be done, it will just be a bit. ;)

That's fair enough. Limited time will tend to make you get your skates on and do the important bits. I'll be interested in seeing more.

Seriously, Moz? Seriously? I have to face models painted (and based!) this well in the campaign? I might as well give up now, you tyrant. This is unacceptable.

Honestly, though, dude, these look fantastic. Can't wait to see the rest!
