How Best to use my new Landraider Crusader

And you apparently saw why I recommend terminator armored troops.

They are a lot more durable than GH. Spend the same points on them as you spent on the Grey Hunters and you'll probably achieve better effect, though they won't be scoring.

wouldn't exactly be sure, guess i'll have to try them out next time :)

Lol I always laugh at how people moan about TDA being overpriced compared to other codex. It's literally a few points per model, get over it :cuss!!! We have acres of cheap characters and elites, and the best standard troops in the game (GHs).

Well if you want to be technical, we CAN have TDA for seven points cheaper, per model, than our C:SM brethren if we want SB+PW. Slap any other combination on them and the price starts accruing quite quickly. I personally cant stand the price/survivability ratio they have- even the basic terminator is only statistically twice as durable as a grey hunter for three points more. Its not a horrible tradeoff, with the powerweapon being great but the fewer close range shots and inability to be economically transported being a real pain in my rear. But when a decently equiped TDA squad ends up being 300pts its just not a good way to make a 'tough' army, and TDA is there in most forces to be tough. So whats that leave for our terminators? Killy, but the killier we want to make them the more expensive theyre going to get... I hope the enemy brought a hammer unit they happen to be good against :S.

Not at all. A 220, 230pt WGTDA unit (the most I spend on my GHs) is going to be less survivable, less killy at range, and harder to move around the field. I dont think its a good deal by the price. Sure, sometimes you just need WG to get the job done, but most of the time I field WG- particularly in TDA- its for a bit of fun and flavor.

Yeah I agree, once you start adding toys they can get expensive, and the main issue is the transport limitations. However I do like their weapon options and the fact you can run mixed armour squads. Getting WG TDA into combat quickly would involve DPs or land raiders, which are just gonna be big targets either way, made worse by the squad cost itself. Still, I've not played for years and my first game is going to be in the new year and I'm planning on running 4 TDA squads in DPs with logan/priests/arjac, just for fun :)

In my 4500 pt Apoc list, for my full Logan's Best, I have two LRC's, one with 14 BC's, a WP and a WGPL w/ Fist. The other is six dual WC's TDA WG, Logan, a WP, and an IP w/ Saga Iron Wolf.

As I have yet to use the TDA group with Logan, I'm not certain how to go forward as far as changing loadouts. Points-wise I have no room to maneuver, but I'm willing to see where to go from here with them.
