company veteran
i wanted to share my recipe for my deathwing as ifeel it is a simple and effective paint job. lemme know if it helps at all STEP 1: basecoat your model with denheb stone. a few watered down coats over a black undercoat gives a smooth finish STEP 2: wash heavily with gryphonne sepia, leave to dry, and if need be wash again STEP 3: reapply denheb stone to all areas leaving recesses dark STEP 4: mix 1 part skull white with 2 parts denheb stone and apply to ridges and raised areas STEP 5: mix an equal amount of skull white to denheb stone and repeat ridges and raised areas in a thinner line this can be used effectively for stonework too: I SINCERELY HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243835-deathwingbone-armour/ Share on other sites

MasterAzrael
What model is that? This is Lion El'Jonson my dear friend. You can read more about him in the Dark Angel Codex. hmk17
I think he was more looking to see if it was a purchasable model. Its a kit bash. GK PA legs, DA Torso, BT Helmet (wing Wings added), Sanguinary Guard left shoulder... its a very nice conversion. ultramarine373
okay i'm def gonna use this for my deathwing allies and on a side note that model looks amazing awesome kitbash but if its meant to be the Lion you should use terimantor legs to make him bigger than every one else, just a friendly suggestion. Venemox
Please remember, this tutorial is from before the Great Paint Shakeup of 2012. Most of the colors go by different anmes, now. Still, great tehcnique, simple and looks good. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243835-deathwingbone-armour/#findComment-3126025 Share on other sites

Burn_the_Heretic
Skull White = White Scar Gryphon Sepia = (apparently) Seraphim Sepia Deneb Stone = (apparently) Rakarth Flesh. Bear in mind this is what the GW Conversion Chart says. I'm going to try these on a test miniature.
