company veteran
POSTED IN PAINTING TUTORIALS BUT SOMEONE HERE MIKE LIKE IT TOO :P i wanted to share my recipe for my deathwing as i feel it is a simple and effective paint job. lemme know if it helps at all STEP 1: basecoat your model with denheb stone. a few watered down coats over a black undercoat gives a smooth finish STEP 2: wash heavily with gryphonne sepia, leave to dry, and if need be wash again STEP 3: reapply denheb stone to all areas leaving recesses dark STEP 4: mix 1 part skull white with 2 parts denheb stone and apply to ridges and raised areas STEP 5: mix an equal amount of skull white to denheb stone and repeat ridges and raised areas in a thinner line this can be used effectively for stonework too: I SINCERELY HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243836-easy-deathwing-armour/ Share on other sites

Kajae
I like it a lot. When it comes time, I'll be giving that a shot! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243836-easy-deathwing-armour/#findComment-2948590 Share on other sites
Antarius
Looks great! I'll definitely be doing something like that for my Deathwing. I was somewhat amazed that this was over a black undercoat, since it looks so good and is so relatively simple. In any case, thanks a lot :) By the way, I also suspect something similar could be done for cloaks with good results (although perhaps with Devlan Mud instead of Sepia). subtlebrush
Wow! Much more efficient and easier then my long drawn out process for my Deathwing. Will definitely be trying this instead. +++Mr.M+++ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243836-easy-deathwing-armour/#findComment-2948878 Share on other sites
carmachu
Can I ask, in the first picture, where does the winged helmet come from? Is it the wings from the DA upgrade sprue?
