Wolf Priest ideas?

Here's a Wolf Priest I built just to have one. I'll never use him because I don't think they're worth it, but I had to have one. He's a FW torso, legs, arms, and cloak from our sprue, metal combiplasma from the terminator librarian, and the crosius from an extra Ulric I had lying around.

I had the same mindset about them brother until I put one in a unit with Arjac and PA WG + LRC.

THEY SMASHED FACE. Of course, the Wolf Priest was the lone survivor after taking down multiple units of Daemons, necrons, and even the Mighty Nightbringer before Arjac and his boys fell. It was a great game, and an awesome way to field a new model/unit I had never used.

Also, great model brother! Needs some paint though!

I have 4 Wolf Priest, I use the Games Day 2003 model. If you look around on Ebay you can find them anywhere from $25.00-60.00. 20-35 isn't bad for the model, very nice looking and isn't much when you consider it is an HQ and on average HQ's are 15-25. If you are not interested in that, kitbash it using a wolf head, and the space wolf weapon on a staff for his Crozius. How I would do it:

Head: Wolf head

Shoulders: Wolf fur pad x2 (the ones that come in the SW kit)

Backpack: Twin-headed Wolf head backpack (from the SW upgrade sprue)

Torso: Any torso will do fine

Legs: SW legs with Fur tabard

Weapon #1: Either a Thunder Hammer with the head cut off and put a SW eagle on it, or a banner holding arm and put the eagle on it.

Weapon #2: Your choice.

If you really want to get into it, you can even true-scale it with PC to make it stand out from the rest of your men. There are many tutorials on how to True-Scale on the tutorial sub forum

i was goign to post mine but since schertenleib already posted one of his it's not necesary anymore. it's quite an easy conversion and apperently quite a few wolves found it inspirational. all you need is the skull like chaos helmet that comes in the chaos marine squad and a knife to remove the inner 2 teeth, leaving only the long outer canines ;)

I still have to remove his sword and give him his crozius arcanum and i'm thinking of giving his a wolfskull helmet as i still have one, but for now he is new and he still hasnt earned the rights to where these symbols :jaw:

I'm hoping that TDA is more worthwhile for characters in 6th Edition; seeing some of these terrific Wolf Priests in TDA reminds me that it's such a shame that it just isn't worth the points for the upgrade, especially when Runic Armour costs the same, allows you to maintain an extra pistol attack, and even offers some protection against psychic powers.

Would really like to see characters vie for Terminator Armour, rather than avoiding it, in the future.
