Grimdarkness
Well that was dry and boring. Typical Ultramarine. Nice to know that this wont change in the next 10K years. Sarcasm Off. I always forget this part. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243877-know-no-fear-extract/#findComment-2948573 Share on other sites

Son of Rawl
Wasn't exactly a great extract, still will be getting it though as I'm curious about Abnetts take on the Ultramarines, his work on Prospero Burns for the Wolves really changed the way I look at them. Kodanshi
Seems… a little out of context. You know those bits in Helsreach where Dembski–Bowden lists the Templars lost in battle, with details on whether their progenoid glands were recovered? Imagine if that only was the extract for that book. I think this is a little like that situation. Pavement Artist
Wasn't exactly a great extract, still will be getting it though as I'm curious about Abnetts take on the Ultramarines, his work on Prospero Burns for the Wolves really changed the way I look at them. That being said, read the extract thats in the latest BL preview books. It's a hell of a lot more action packed. Lord Lorne Walkier
‘preparatory phase of acquisition’, Sweet! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243877-know-no-fear-extract/#findComment-2949037 Share on other sites
Doghouse
I think it seems to be trying to get the message across that Lorgar's actions were calculated in a military fashion. I'll probably still buy the book at some point but not the most interesting extract to wet the appetite. Capt. Taurus
Seems boring, to tell the truth. An appraisal that would be justified if we could safely assume that the tone of this extract represents the entire novel. Since this is a "battle report" your judgement and that of all others is pretty moot. Reports on military encounters are always boring, it's in the nature of such things, especially if that report is situated in the context of everyone's favourite trans human starch arses (UMs that is). cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243877-know-no-fear-extract/#findComment-2950808 Share on other sites
