Lachdannan
That is one solid unit, both modelling wise and the feel of the unit itself. Great work.

the damned artificer
So I have been having a serious painting blockage on this project, but now I have found out what I need to do to get the spark back. The sad truth about having started this way back in december 2011 means I have progressed quite a bit painting wise since, and I needed to get the current work on this force updated a bit to suit my current taste a bit better. So I went and added a lot of contrast areas to the yellow with Seraphim Sepia and my trusty 0.2mm airbrush. The result is a more contrasty and 3D looking yelow, that is also feeling slightly warmer as opposed to the very cold yellow I have used. Anyway, enough talk, here's the pictures! First off is a "efore" and after on the added shading to show the difference. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/IF2_zpss0kzcpxo.jpg The predator is turning out really nice I think http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/IF7_zps2uwcz5un.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/IF6_zpslquqkbgn.jpg My contemptor also got the treatment. The nicest part about this fix up is that the wash is transparent and goes over the existing colour and weathering without any need to repaint anything. I might add some small ultra sharp edge highlights to some areas though, just to define the angles a bit better again http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/IF5_zps2vhndjmw.jpg Typhoon after shading http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/IF4_zpstmuomtcv.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/IF3_zpswrdyyxsf.jpg And an overexposed shot of the entire carpark up till this point. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Pre-heresy%20Imperial%20Fists/IF_zps2fjduvoa.jpg More will come soon, I have the IF legion transfer sheet on its way, so the vehicles will have some of the new Rudge love as well. Ohh... And expect to see some major new legion heresy with the arrival of the new plastics as well, but more on that when I can show some pics :D

sheep
Damn son! That's a great start to another legion. You've done a really good job of getting the brass etch to conform to those compound curves on the contemptors and the banner, really impressive. Your Horus is still one of the best I've ever seen, the lighting on the face and head is just perfect. Look forward to seeing the cookouts hit those ECs soon. Thanks mate The secret to the brass etch is to heat it to it's red hot with a lighter and then cooling it down in water, makes the brass malable and super easy to work with. I hope the next Horus I do will turn out even better, as I actually getto keep that one :P
