Olis
Looks really nice, the gradiation is smoother than what you'd get from using brushes and the red stands out well. Kierdale
Very good work on the claws. Nice colour transition. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243900-fw-ironclad-dreadnought/page/2/#findComment-2954437 Share on other sites
Ramell
It just gets better and better every time I visit this thread. The claws are absolutely fantastic, and work very well with the blue. I've considered doing something similar on a Relic Contemptor, but I doubt I can get it as smooth as yours. UltraRich
Just a quick update as Ive not had any time on these over the last couple of days. What does a dreadnought who has everything want for new year? Thats right, more guns. Ive now attached the body mounted flamers and finished the 2nd claw. These still need their final highlights.  The flash is washing out the highlights Ive done to the blue so it isnt as flat as it looks  http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f372/rbrewster101/IMG_1967.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243900-fw-ironclad-dreadnought/page/2/#findComment-2955839 Share on other sites

(And mabe some other bits aswell "Claws" *cough* *cough*) and those lovely looking chips on the legs! If it doesnt impact your painting time to much that is! UltraRich
Another update. Im alternating between this and my LPC Vow  Ive now stuck the arms on and Im starting the highlight them now the under arm guns are finished.  Theres the final highlighting on the arms and body then its done.  http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f372/rbrewster101/IMG_1989.jpg  What is interesting is when you stand it against my regular GW dread (which is also WIP!) its massive (I dont know if its the base though)  http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f372/rbrewster101/IMG_1992.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/243900-fw-ironclad-dreadnought/page/2/#findComment-2961287 Share on other sites
Montuhotep
I think it's just the way the armour plates and torso are sculpted that widens the appearance, the launchers and 4 stack power plant give the idea of more height - ergo, the whole thing seems bigger. UltraRich
No, its just good luck with the photos. Ive got my camera on macro mode, my daylight painting lamp above it and the mini sat on a piece of black plasticard. I'll take a wider shot tomorrow.
