D00M Posted December 24, 2011 Share Posted December 24, 2011 Hey guys had a really cool list idea, tell me what you think HQ Lord Power Fist 115pts Lord Power Fist 115pts Elites 6 Terminators Lightning Claws Icon of Slanesh 255pts Troops 7 Plague Marines 2 Plazma Guns Icon (Lord) Rhino Havoc Launcher 246pts 7 Plague Marines 2 Flamers Icon (Lord) Rhino Havoc Launcher 226pts 8 Plague Marines 2 Plazma Guns Icon Rhino Havoc Launcher 269pts Heavy Support Predator Sponser Lascannons Extra Armor 145pts Predator Sponser Lascannons 130pts TOTAL: 1501pts Basically the cheap as chips Lords stand in for the expensive Powerfist armed Aspiring Champions and deal out some you cant touch me im in a tough squad of plague marines hurt while the Terminators kill.....EVERYTHING and the Predators sit back and relax while sniping Monsterous creatures and tanks. Hiro_Protagonist Posted December 24, 2011 Share Posted December 24, 2011 The problem is though that those Lords can be singled out in close combat, unlike an Aspiring Champion. The Lord is 115, while the Champion is only 63. You're paying 52 pts (almost double) for +2 WS, +1 BS, -1T!, +1 A, and can still be one punched by a fist from another squad. Looks cool but since your Termies dont have a raider, why not try this: Since your deep-striking termies will need some help getting into combat, use a single lash sorceress. Maybe a corrupted sister of battle or dark eldar sorceress, since you've already got some of that dirty Slaanesh mixed in the list anyways. Take a Nurgle DW lord Lash Sorcerer in power armor Pms in rhino w/ Melta x2, Havoc L. Pms in rhino w/ Plas x2 Pms in rhino w/ Plas x2 6 Termies w/ Lclaws and Slaanesh 2 Preds Should be pretty nasty. I just dont like the Pfist lords. the benefit of fists is to be able to hide them in squads. If anything, all the PM's need fist champs. People have an Irrational fear of cover ESPECIALLY in the Tyranid community as the only units they have with frag grenades are overcosted/worthless. You cant just dubunk the whole mark of slanesh because theres a chance your assaulting into cover.... Sometimes the mark will pay off, and it's cheap enough to scoff at when it doesn't come into play. Gotta build all-comer lists anyways, right?
