Would Mordrak and Paladins work?

I recently decided that the next army I want to play after Space Marines would be the Grey Knights.

So after reading the codex, I thought of this idea for part of a list (It's not a complete list, just something I thought I could add)

Grand Master Mordrak - 200 points

5 men Paladin squad - 315

add a pyscannon

2 Nemeis Halberds

Psybolt ammunition

Total 515.

My intention was to utilize Mordrak's ability First to the Fray to deep strike the Paladins and him straight into the front of the enemies. Termies with 2 wounds should be pretty damn hard to kill.

So, would this work ideally or is this too many points spent on such a strike force?

Mordrak is not an independant character if I remember correctly, meaning you can not attach him to any squad other than his ghost knights. Which is probably a good thing, as with just a single psycannon Mordrak's squad would be great, with the 4 that paladins could bring... just wow. So you are stuck with the almost no option ghost knights.

As Mordrak is not an Independent Character, you can't attach him to Paladins. The only units capable of benefitting from his First to the Fray rule are his retinue of Ghost Knights and any Independent Characters you attach to him.

Edit: ninja'd by DevianID. :P Though if you want a Psycannon in his squad, you can attach an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor or Grandmaster with Psycannon to his squad. That will of course take both of your HQ slots and make for an expensive unit. :P
