Honda
For some reason this image struck me this morning while I was commenting on another thread. He went together pretty quick. It seems only appropriate that he be a Black Templar. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d187/hkowabunga/Black%20Templars/DSCN9346.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d187/hkowabunga/Black%20Templars/DSCN9351.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d187/hkowabunga/Black%20Templars/DSCN9345.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d187/hkowabunga/Black%20Templars/DSCN9347.jpg Merry Christmas everyone! Tellos05
Looking good so far. Nice posing however I think if you really want him to stand out as a templar maybe replace the chainsword with a power sword and have him holding it with both hands on the hilt and the blade pointing down? That way it'll seem like hes in prayer on being blessed by a chaplain. Just a thought mate. Lysimachus
Really nice posing there. What would be really awesome as a diorama would be to put him in a chapel of some kind with a procession of cenobytes and maybe a Chaplain approaching carrying the equipment of the Emperor's Champion, Black Sword, etc. Actually, the cenobyte with the Imperial eagle over his back would look very cool with the sword instead. Tyrannicide
^ If he reposed it, then he wouldn't be Tebow authentic! (Look up Tim Tebow taking a knee on google for ref.) I think he looks awesome. If you felt the need to sculpt one, a tabard wouldn't be out of place... ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244081-tebowing-black-templar/#findComment-2950862 Share on other sites
Hrvat
A very nice pose, I would only suggest maybe a head with a closed mouth. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244081-tebowing-black-templar/#findComment-2950869 Share on other sites
ninjabat
I don't know, I personally like the open mouth - it makes him look like he is chanting the prayer, rather then just kneeling respectfully, and to me anyway, somehow more templar-like Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244081-tebowing-black-templar/#findComment-2950883 Share on other sites
jonza
dynamic pose looking forward to seeing him painted. is he kneeling on an auspex? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244081-tebowing-black-templar/#findComment-2950898 Share on other sites
Jackpet
Love it! And I agree with Darth Potato, a tabard would make him even more awesome ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244081-tebowing-black-templar/#findComment-2951012 Share on other sites
DirtyDel
there should be some of his boys standing around, one of em loading a fresh mag, the other polishing a blade, and one staring at the tebower. everyone has their own rituals before the battle. Honda
Been thinking about the tabard and agree that it would be a good addition, so I'll give that an attempt. Also, a friend suggested that he should really be holding a melta bomb (i.e. football), which is probably historically accurate ;) , but I like the chainsword as is. So I think I'll just put on on the base near him. I probably ought to put a helmet on there as well. Suggestions as to helmet type? Also, I rather like the idea of some others standing around him. I'll have to give that some thought. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244081-tebowing-black-templar/#findComment-2951278 Share on other sites

Olgerth Istaarn
Outstanding pose. I concur with others, make him into a diorama. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244081-tebowing-black-templar/#findComment-2951642 Share on other sites

Kierdale
This warrior priest, converted a little, would make a great addition. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244081-tebowing-black-templar/#findComment-2951982 Share on other sites
Sanguine Marine
^ Great idea Kierdale. You could replace the bare head with a metalic one, or a chaplains helmet. Honda
@Kierdale: That's pretty awesome, thanx for the tip. ;) Here's the update with the tabarded Tebow... http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d187/hkowabunga/Black%20Templars/DSCN9366.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d187/hkowabunga/Black%20Templars/DSCN9365.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d187/hkowabunga/Black%20Templars/DSCN9363.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d187/hkowabunga/Black%20Templars/DSCN9362.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d187/hkowabunga/Black%20Templars/DSCN9359.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d187/hkowabunga/Black%20Templars/DSCN9356.jpg I can see where leaving off the backpack would make the tabarding exercise quite a bit easier, so in the event that I embark upon a crusade, I'll have to plan the logistics of that rather carefully. Anyway, we are back to cool clear skies, so I think I'll get him basecoated. This will be interesting as I don't think I've painted anything since June-July-ish. Shadow Nugz
I'm enjoying the fact that not many people are getting the reference. Good looking pose but for reference: http://www.examiner.com/christian-athletes...fore-game-photo I've always liked the hand to head look. Also I think he would do well as a Ultramarine from the 6th company(blue and orange!) P.S. Go Broncos!!! Kierdale
He looks really good. Looking forward to seeing some paint on him. But...I just noticed, is that the grip of a bolter/weapon protruding from the bottom of his right hand? If so, better shave that off before painting. Watcher in the Dark
Well...seeing as how my DIY will have the Broncos color scheme AND be from the planet Verden, NOW I have to steal this idea. Lol. Tim Tebow may have a long way to go before he's a great QB, but he makes an awesome Space Marine now!
