Redfinger Posted December 24, 2011 Share Posted December 24, 2011 So I have had a few days off and in between some commission work I have decided to start the work on this guy....I picked up this guy in a trade and he was already primed black, I am not a big fan of black primers, but I did not want to strip this guy and risk loosing the detail, so I decided on a very dark overall scheme. I am happy so far with the results but I think I might have put too much of the parchment color for the some of the details, I still need to highlight/shade it all, but I am not sure yet at this point. Originally I was planning on making the Aquila on his left shoulder gold, but I thought that might clash with the silver trim on the shoulders, so I went with red, the IF accent color. Over all this is a really cool model and I wish the GW/Forgeworld would produce more HQ types that are some what generic that can be easy converted for personal use. I only gripe with libs is the all blue, I know it's the way they are I just would like to see a little more chapter color to break up the "smurf" look they all usually have.
