RedemptionNL
Wanted to paint something in between, so a quick intermezzo: http://i50.tinypic.com/5ybzx1.jpg Did the broken Aquila from the Honoured Imperium set. Took me about 15 minutes of airbrushing and drybrushing. RedemptionNL
And while I was getting my area terrain on, I added this Citadel Wood: http://i46.tinypic.com/34qww9i.jpg As my board is pretty barren, I went with the petrified tree look. A lush forest would look out of place. http://i47.tinypic.com/amukyd.jpg And of course, can't have a piece of 40k terrain without skulls! http://i45.tinypic.com/1zdrgo2.jpg It's a nice piece of kit; easy and quick to assemble and paint. I like the fact that the trees are removable, makes them very playable. I may just have to get a second set some time in the future. But I'm going to finish this current pile of terrain first. RedemptionNL
Thanks! It's primed in Vallejo German Panzer Grey, then I airbrushed GW's Balthasar Gold over it, with a final highlight by lightly drybrushing GW's Necron Compound on the edges. Biohazard
This table is fantastic, love the picture of the trees with the landing pad in the background. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244224-gametable-wip/page/3/#findComment-3190554 Share on other sites
War Angel
When my phone first loaded the pictures I thought the trees where overgrowth on the landing pad, that would be an interesting look Great stuff, keep it up Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244224-gametable-wip/page/3/#findComment-3190666 Share on other sites
Captain Juan Juarez
In the last couple of pictures, the addition of the trees makes me think of a 40k version of Weathertop :P Classy stuff, dude. RedemptionNL
Thanks guys, much appreciated! Finished another piece over the weekend: the Blastscape. Sadly the low sun kind of drowns out the colours in the photos a little bit. http://i45.tinypic.com/w71o50.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/2egf8kh.jpg Nice bit of kit, even if it is a little less playable due to all the uneven surfaces and non-removable trees. Evil
This is an awesome thread. Thank you for the inspiration. I love that the table has places for books and dice. Usually, my friend and I put our books, dice, and beers directly onto our "Realm of Battle" gameboards. Also, your painting skills are incredible. tvih
http://i45.tinypic.com/w71o50.jpg Aww, poor Rhinosaur fossil! :( Looks like you have an excellent gaming table there, can't wait to see what else you come up with for it. Me, if I play at home once my brother gets a playable army too I guess I'll have to make do with the kitchen table and probably buildings made out of lego bricks, hah :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244224-gametable-wip/page/3/#findComment-3192566 Share on other sites

RedemptionNL
Been a while since the last update; been painting up some of my 'Nids and of course the season holidays took their toll on hobby time. :) But, continuing with the game table: http://i48.tinypic.com/2w73ihj.jpg I got a few pieces of leftover 6mm trespa plates from a friend who works at a company where the sell the stuff. This stuff is rocksolid and doesn't warp at all, so while expensive if you would have to buy it, it's ideal stuff to use as a base. http://i48.tinypic.com/2l949rc.jpg Bevelled the edges with a dremel and glued some modelling sand to add texture for drybrushing it later. http://i46.tinypic.com/2ih3x2o.jpg And added some textured plasticard to the manifactorium floor. More details like some computer consoles and such will be added later, but for ease of painting it's empty for now.
