Grey hunter load out

Ok, I've been trolling for a number of years, but what is the best 10 man grey hunter load out for all comers, with three packs?

My friends and I (4 others chaos, tau, dark eldar and tyranids ) are looking to get a game together and I'd like to field an army that is versatile, and competitiveness is secondary (but a plus, nontheless )

At this point I have one possible devastator squad, a land raider (magnitized) and three rhinos/razorbacks as well as a wolf termy kit. Suggestions are appreciated ;)

Thanks

If you're going for three 10-man packs, your best bet is to run 9 Grey Hunters with a Melta Gun, Mark of the Wulfen, and a Wolf Guard leading them with a combi-Melta and a powerfist. Though, if you want to just run a full Grey Hunter squad, I'd go 2x Melta Gun and Mark of the Wulfen. Though, if you want to go more "shooty", I've had success with a 10-man squad with two Plasma guns.

I'd prefer do go 5-man packs with Melta/Mark, a WG with combi-Melta/Powerfirst in a Razorback with a Lascannon/Plasma gun turret.

It makes sense if you intend to use the Grey Hunters as ablative wounds, but it's costly. Giving a GH pack a TDA WGPL is fun, but when they start getting shot at, you'll find yourself weighing the odds on whether to take saves ona 3+ or 2+, which will inevitably end badly at some point.

Also.. if you want 3x cyclone WGPLs, you're going to need another 12 WG, since you can only have one heavy weapon per 5 WG. Not to mention any more than 10 WG will increase your Elite unit count since 10 is the max per pack.

You might not want to make all three the same. I design each pack to do a job; one is built for Rear Consolidation, two for Forward Consolidation, and one for Assault Force. Whether I plan on going on the offensive, or stay on the defensive, each pack has a specific job to do, and is built to do it.
