DOA... need an explination of the meaning

I know DOA is an acronym for Death on Arrival. But what does that mean exactly. I see it used on army lists. I want to guess that it means it is a deadly list in a sense.

Descent of Angels actually.

 

Used (often incorrectly) to refer to a predominantly jump pack heavy BA force- after their special ability - DoA.

I like to think of it as meaning both acronyms. But Morticon is correct, it's Decent of Angels first and foremost!!
