Land Speeder Tornadoes

In the Fast Attack section it says "Any Land Speeder may be upgraded to a Land Speeder Tornado armed with one of the following:" It then goes on to lable the price of a heavy flamer as 10 points and multi melta at 20 despite them being cheaper as a regular Land Speeder and the only things it adds otherwise as a Tornado varient is the opportunity to take either a heavy bolter or an Assult cannon.

As a Land Speeder Typhoon allows Typhoon missiles is this just an error or am I missing something?

Ghent is correct. A Tornado-pattern Land Speeder as two weapons, the second one under the chin to be precise. So the points you pay for the upgrade are points for a second weapon.

Yes, that means you can have speeders with two multi-meltas, for 80 points per model.

I ve used these to great effect there are just too many LR's to kill for me locally

H. Flamer and M. Melta. Good against any combination of units, low price cost. Only disadventage is that you have to be close to the enemy. But 2 or 3 of them could be very attractive fire magnet or suicide unit, and still they can easyly return their points cost.

And yes, they have two weapons.

The 24" range limitation means theyre in striking distance of most enemy units and at the same time theyre focused on killing enemy vehicles or tough infantry- both of wich are likely to have the weapons needed to take them down. I find that the need to be so close combined with their higher price tag is a bad combination overall... I never take assault cannons on speeders since they changed the rending rules.
I run mine with Assault cannon and multimelta for a nice 100 points.

Pretty flexible loadout.

I have looked at this combo but never taken it how do you find they do?

They work for me, but that's due to local metagame.

I face allot of Tyranids and powerarmour so the weapon mix tends to help. We have a houserule that involves all-comers lists, building to take on a specific enemy is highly discouraged and qho we face on any given game is often random.

I find that the assault cannon is great for getting woundson the higher toughness Nids and the multimelta kills mobile vehicles.
