It's set sometime after the events of Deliverance Lost, so is themed to the Age of Darkness time period during the Heresy. DL doesn't mention how large his bodyguard was and I'm going to imagine it as a company-sized formation (similar to the Justaerin etc), so even after Istvaan there could be several small squads of these guys. Since there's no mention of any remaining Devastator companies after Istvaan, I'm presuming that the few remaining squads were amalgamated into the other reformed companies. I'm aware the Sergeant has a black spot on the end of his nose. PPS. The colours are a little washed out in places due to the lamp - the bases are a bit darker and more colourful in person (the bases are from Dragonforge - a mix of Wasteland II and Urban Rubble Wasteland - and they're excellent). I'm planning on changing the little winged skull icon on the ML to metallic, adding weathering and some battle damage, and I'll be adding some transfers here and there too. I just picked up Deliverance yesterday and as soon as I finish Legion will jump right on it. The idea of using the BA codex for a pure jump Raven Guard list is really, really, like really good. To me, they seem to fit in better with the whole Raven Guard motif. On your black armour it alost looks like it hasa blue hugh about it?. Which works really well, might i enquire as your receipe ?. And as one further point, i think the wings work on your RG as much as they do on the BA, as you all know im a big BA player and as much as where angelic, painted in the right way the wings would make this RG pop!. But instead of the geometric shapes I'm colouring the circles around the RG icon on the FW shoulder pads the relevant colour. So my assault squads will have red circles (hopefully soon!). @High Marshal Sigfeird - I'm afraid a lot of the apparent highlighting in the pics comes from the daylight lamp. They're more matt black in person (which fits for RG). I use Vallejo black with cold grey (codex grey) fine edge highlight, then a badab black wash, then a further cold grey edge highlight on the uppermost edges. I deliberately kept the black simple and mostly unhighlighted so I can easily correct any mistakes I make doing the detailing. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm using a 1500 point Bloodhammer list (jumpers and devs) but with Dante rather than a Librarian. I've found the ability to leave combat rather useful and he makes the c/a sanguinary guard scoring. It would help Commander Aloni stand out more (with his bone-coloured death mask and gold bling). IIRC there's a Raven Guard successor called the Black Guard, who have never been more than a name.
