henrywalker
so i already have a five man interceptor squad with swords and a hammer, 5 halperd purifiers, 4 psycannon purifiers and a sword purifier. i generally combat squad the psycannons to make a quasi purgation squad. i just received 2 new boxes over christmas so thats another 10 bodies. my question is what should i use them as. I recently played a game where all but the hammer interceptor died straight away and the hammer guy went on to kill an absurd amount of points so i'm very tempted to make another 4 hammer interceptors (and another sword) and have a 5 hammer squad. i might go ahead and make a purgation squad as i rather like the idea of shooting incinerators through a wall. however i figure i could just count the purifier psycannoners as purgation (their helmets fell in bleach) another option is to expand my purifier to have a 10 man halberd squad. what do we think about these idea? any other ideas sound good? thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244453-what-to-do-with-my-new-pagks/ Share on other sites
the jeske
if your runing crow then go for 5man squads with 2 psycannons and razorback If your runing a GM then go for 10 man strikes with 2 psycannons and rhinos if your runing something else [like an INQ or draigo] then you need other units to be the base of your army. and no 5 man with 4 hammers and a +3 sv is not a good idea. Drachnon
4 Hammers sounds like a massive waste of points I don't know how that single hammer managed to deal a lot of damage after all others failed, but I don't think adding 4 more will really improve the squad adding 1 or 2 when making it a 10 size squad can be ok. henrywalker
i was against orks for kill points and he managed to pop a vehicle a turn for 5 turns, good rolling i guess. i actually just made the 5 hammer guys due to my fiance informing me that they would look awesome. It was quite a fiddle converting them to have all different poses. i realise that they might not be the wisest choice game wise but they do look great and i reckon they will be fun to play with. I reckon that they could be quite good at vehicle popping. they can turn up ext to a stationary vehicle, hit automatically with strength 10 (hammer hand) 5 hits i will get on average 3 pens on a rhino or 1-2 on a landraider with a glancing for each too. should do something. thanks for te opinions though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244453-what-to-do-with-my-new-pagks/#findComment-2955494 Share on other sites
the jeske
well fun is a point of view thing , but in general stuff moves in the game and it also very offten strikes back . 5 dudes with t4 sv+3 wnd 5 wounds hiting with even 10A each would not be very fun to use , because they would never get to swing at i1.unless I dont know you assaulted 10 guardsman or tau fire warriors.
