The Rise of Malarius!

Malarius

Was thinking while looking at the top photos that you have to do the model justice and give it a awesome paint job. Then I scrolled down and my eye balls (like that of the trophy on top of this model) popped out, that is some sweet painting you got going on there. Stuff like this makes me want to do a chaos army.

Looking foward to more.

Awesome paintjob so far! Will you add some meat and stuff to that poor humans arm and head spots or just paint some blood on there?

I'm going to add a regular arm. It's the one that's holding a helmet. I'm scrapping the lower half of the guardsman though.

Thanks for all the compliments! Feels good.

Finally, got the wings done and the left one put back on! So far my most hated thing to do in this hobby is those damn wings. I went from breaking one off to painting the wrong color on a wrong area, all the way to getting grey paint all over one! ARRRRGGH! Totally worth it though. It was kinda a blessing in disguise that the wing broke. I was able to get all the good stuff in between the wings. gotta do some battle damage to the armor of the guardsman, but I managed to get the face where I like. I can't stress using washes enough. They are the best things ever. Devlan mud fixes everything...Everything.

Okay, I'm done for the night. I got the other arm on. Still needs lots of work. The wood shaft in the scythe was giving me some problems but I'll fix it up. I added some purples to the guts and tried highlighting them with some white for a wet look. It came out pretty cool, I'm glad I tried it.

I got the right arm mostly complete. All I need to do is get a copper metal paint for the power supply on the scythe. Still a ton more work to do. Going to add some battle damage to the guardsman today and start the left arm. I'll post some pics later tonight.

So I'm going to be working on a Chaos Lord for each Chaos God. I have Nurgle down and plan on making a Khorne Lord which is half marine, half Juggernaught (centaur like). I have a plan to make a Tzeentch Sorcerer Lord riding a Disc of Tzeentch going ape :D with warp powers. But, what should I do for Slaanesh? A jetbike? I know I want to give him a Blissgiver/Lash of Torment and some Doom Siren action. I'm just at a block as to what he should be riding.

Any suggestions would help.

Right arm done with exception to the power supply for the scythe.

I love how fast he seems to be moving, too. When Nurgle comes to mind usually the first thing I think is slow, pondersome, but pretty much unstoppable. Meanwhile this dude is flying around with his hair on fire swinging scythes in all directions and getting extra move distance all the while. Nicely done.

Thanks man! :) I wanted there to be tons of fast movement in this guy. I intend to make a fast attacking Nurgle army. Lots of Nurgle raptors and bikes... and Blight Drones.

Oh you've definitely got the notion of speed on this guy.

He's coming together nicely!

Here's some pics!!!! So the main figure is DONE!! All I need to do is the guts, the guardsmen's right arm, the rock and the base. I'll add some gore to the left scythe once I find a good way of creating gore.

Added battle damage to the chest. I think it looks cool.

Here are some future projects. I want to add a pre-heresy jump pack to the sorcerer. It look like he's casting Nurgle's Rot! The Blight Drone should be a really fun model to paint. I don't know what I'm going to do with those Carrion wings... maybe use them on the Sanguinor model as another Nurgle Lord of some sort.
