Pre-Heresy Squad Markings

I've been having a few (GD) diorama ideas, and want to put together a Pre-Heresy squad or two.

 

Were there any (officially-created) squad markings during the Crusade legions? Obviously the Codex hadn't been written at this point, but was there anything that was then incorporated into the Codex? I'm happy making up my own, but wasn't sure if anything had been published

The Index Astartes series Pre-Heresy examples for the Ultramarines, Word Bearers, Imperial Fists, Blood Angels, White Scars, Salamanders, Death Guards, Thousand Sons and Iron Hands all have 'codex' Tactical markings. The Alpha Legionaire has a hollow green triangle which could be a devastator marking. The Raven Guard are the only one with fleshed out pre-heresy squad markings, but those were also incorporated into the Codex Astartes (Insignium Astartes has several pages of variant markings as used by the Smurfs down the millenia, including those markings).

Got my copy of Insignium in front of me - there's one hollow triangle marking pertaining to Devastators, so could be. I'll have to take a look at the Index Astartes. I'd ideally like to do something Luna Wolf - it's always appealed ;)

I'd personally make something up, anything from a uniform symbol across the squad to individual heraldry would work to be honest. On my pre-heresy Iron Warriors I have been doing a grey/white diamond in place of tactical markings.
