Northwind
I have been actually working on this project for some time and am nearing the point of no return - it used to be that I couldn't find the wheels that I liked for this project but that's been taken care of if you haven't noticed. I have a pretty good sense of vision and can imagine what it is that I will need to do to these to make them ready to be painted, but my greenstuff skills are way negative so have been hesitant to mess the models up. I figure I need to find a skilled greenstuff person to explain what I want done and send it off to get finished. Thought people might like to check it out, though. I'm pretty happy with them and I always thought the Aliens APC was a sweet rig! http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/nord34/IMG_2331.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/n.../IMG_2330-1.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/n.../IMG_2329-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244474-wheeled-razorbacks/ Share on other sites
Dorns Padawan
Thats pretty dam cool! Where you get the APC body from? Is it from the Halycon kit or is it something else? What paint scheme you aiming for? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244474-wheeled-razorbacks/#findComment-2955503 Share on other sites
Epic Thoughts
I love it. Been a big fan of wheeled APCs myself and I really like the direction you're going. The only suggestion I would make is "beefing" up the hull, maybe with some plasticard? Excellent work! Please keep us up to date on it. What paint scheme you aiming for? Thanks! The Halcyon kits are getting to be pretty expensive these days - last I looked they were running around $150-$200 a piece online. But I did find a guy out in Cali that moulds these himself in 1/35 and 1/48th scale. These are the 1/48th scale ones. They are a tad longer than a regular Rhino, but I think its more realistic on what can fit in them - 10 armored giants!! I have some Forge World doors that I am going to add and hope to have wheel covers for the tires, too. I have been tinkering with some fender ideas using the bits you can buy for Landraiders from Scibor but I don't think they came out as well as I had hoped. Might post some pics on that and get some opinions. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244474-wheeled-razorbacks/#findComment-2955734 Share on other sites
zxyogi
looks great! Link to supplier? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244474-wheeled-razorbacks/#findComment-2955747 Share on other sites
Northwind
looks great! Link to supplier? You can find him on ebay if you type in "Alien APC" I think his handle is Batman. He has some pretty cool models that would make great stand ins for IG if they weren't the wrong scale (1/35).
