Northwind
I saw a thread a while ago when the codex was first out and the guy was building these to be his Thunderwolf Cav. - don't get me or anyone else started on this I know - and I thought it had a lot of merit. So, I have been endeavoring to build these up to be Blood Claw Battle bikes for my Right Hand of Russ army. Here's the fluff I brought to the table before I started building the force - Swiftclaw Bikers – It has been said by many that nothing is as terrifying as a mob of Blood Claws being given the chance to ride Prey Pacer battle bikes to war. Prey Pacer bikes are of a unique design forged for the Hands exclusively. The single-wheel design is incredibly powerful and traverses nearly every terrain with ease. In the hands of many reckless, youthful Blood Claws, these machines deliver death and destruction in the unlikeliest of places swiftly and with little warning. A favorite tactic of these men and machines is to roar by, bolters spitting a steady stream of explosive shells and at the last, the hurdling form of a Blood Claw leaping from between the huge wheels onto their enemy before they have a chance to recover. Deathmasks grinning blankly as they thunder by, packs of these machines have been known to disrupt entire enemy battle plans. It ain't Tolkien, but it was a place for me to start. I have five on my workbench now but have stalled out due to the fact that IG Demolishers now have their engine covers molded onto the machine instead of being a different piece. Ugh!! Anyone know where I can pick up ten more so I can finish this project out fully? I am also open to suggestions as to how to base them - 40mm round or cavalry bases? I'm leaning towards the cavalry bases even thought they'll hang over a bit. I think they'll take up too much room with a boatload of 40mm discs. Thanks for checking them out! http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/n.../IMG_2333-1.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/n.../IMG_2332-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244477-space-wolf-bike-conversion-wip/ Share on other sites

Northwind
Very cool indeed. Can you give us some up-close pictures? Here ya go. The one with black wheels is the test model and as far as I have got. I'm working on fitting the Marine in there and since he doesn't fit with his pack on I have to figure out some tubing situation to tie him in to the bike... http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/nord34/IMG_2335.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/nord34/IMG_2334.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/nord34/IMG_2337.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244477-space-wolf-bike-conversion-wip/#findComment-2955731 Share on other sites

Olis
Bravo, brother. The most unusual space marine 'bikes' I've seen for a while. Good use of lego, there. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244477-space-wolf-bike-conversion-wip/#findComment-2956453 Share on other sites
Northwind
Just a quick update, folks. Finally made some decisions re: basing and will be moving on making this project complete! Thanks! http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/nord34/IMG_2396.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/nord34/IMG_2397.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244477-space-wolf-bike-conversion-wip/#findComment-2968001 Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
They look fantastic!!! In regards to basing, they should be on whatever base GW supplies for what your unit counts-as. Northwind
Hey fellers, Well, I finally finished making a go of this conversion. I'm going to be psyched to see ten of these things roaring around the board with maniacal Blood Claws leaping from them with frothing fangs, but it sure will be a long road to completion. I do wish I was a better painter, though, so don't judge it too harshly on those merits. It was fun and I can't wait to do some more! Thanks for checking them out, though! http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/nord34/IMG_2469.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/nord34/IMG_2465.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/nord34/IMG_2462.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp268/nord34/IMG_2461.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244477-space-wolf-bike-conversion-wip/#findComment-2976148 Share on other sites
Machine God
What a Great Idea! Where did you get the mon-Cycles from? I have been looking for something similar for an IH MOTF conversion. Northwind
Thanks! They are converted Skaven Doomwheels. You don't have to buy the whole kit, just the inner hull and "wheels" of the unit. I have found some other mono-wheel bikes since then, but I like the overt ruggedness of these for my SW. Ch@oZ
I have found some other mono-wheel bikes since then And what would those be? I'd really like to evaluate their viability for a similar conversion, so to speak.
