Mindstrike question

Hi loyalist scum <3

I have a question about the Mindstrike Missiles and figured this would be better than the Official Rules section. I am considering running 4 squads of Thousand Sons in a tournament soon and I know for a fact that 30% of the tournament will be GKs. One of my squads will be on foot because I don't have the points to give them a rhino. Depending on how this rule really works, I may not have a squad start the game on foot.

If a Mindstrike Missile hits my squad on foot without scattering and rolls a few dice to wound after we find that the entire 9 man squad is under the template (let's say my opponent scores 1 single wound), is the squad sorcerer effected by the Mindstrike Special Rule? A few things come to mind.

1. The sorcerer was in fact under the template, along with the rest of the squad.

2. I allocated 1 wound to a Rubric marine, so is he the only one actually "hit" by the weapon?

I am under the impression that should my opponent get a nice hit with the Mindstrike Missile and do 9 wounds, then obviously I would have to allocate a wound to the sorcerer and should he make his armor save, he would still have to suffer an immediate perils as per the special rule.

Thanks for any clarification boys

The mindstrike effect is separate from the wounding effect. Allocate wounds as you normally would from any Frag missile, or whatever. To force a Perils on your Sorceror, all that has to happen is the Sorceror model is partially covered by the blast marker. All your opponent needs is a 'hit' or lucky scatter roll, and your Sorceror is toast (assuming no Invulnerable save and only 1 Wound- I haven't looked at the Chaos codex in years).

Aye, Mindstrike missiles allow you a degree of sniping out psykers in a unit. Tyranid players, with their abundance of Psykers without invulnerable saves, looooooooove Mindstrike missiles. B) Killing a Hive Tyrant in a single salvo of a Stormraven, while ignoring the attached Tyrant Guards, T6, armour and cover saves, is enough to make a 'Nid player weep.
