ron
Painted this guy up as a way to go over the things you should watch for when painting camo on marines. The tutorial is here, but the finished pics are below. Enjoy! Olis
Is that a freehand Holwing Griffons chapter symbol I spy? Well done to you if it is, brother. ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244565-howling-griffon-tactical-marine/#findComment-2956729 Share on other sites
ron
Grimdarkness: Thanks! Olisredan: It is, but it's not that good. Fortunately, the camo hides it enough to get by. That and I only had to paint one model so I could put some time into getting it detailed. I have a better one here. It's on the classic red and yellow quartered scheme so there was no hiding. mr tough guy
Looks great man, great scheme and combined with the MK6 it's very Rogue Trader, also love the backpack, is that a conversion? it's great to complete the RT look Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244565-howling-griffon-tactical-marine/#findComment-2957673 Share on other sites
Olis
also love the backpack, is that a conversion? it's great to complete the RT look Looks like a regular backpack with a GS'ed spine added on. I hadn't noticed first time around. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244565-howling-griffon-tactical-marine/#findComment-2957692 Share on other sites
ron
Yes, the backpack is a conversion. That and the chest plate too. I'm putting together another post on the conversion aspect as well, I just need to go through all my pics first. Sir Tancrede
Nice to see some camouflaged SM. It brings me back to the old days of Rogue Traders, and it's really cool !! Honda
For me, the whole reason to do Badab is to be able to paint camo marines. This scheme is one of my favorites. Excellent job and two thumbs up from me. I'll have to go back and check some of my reference material, but wasn't there a deeper color similar to the black spots as the shade? Did you decide to simplify (which I would understand)? Honda
camouflaged marines....heresy, where is the wrack? Actually, you might consider doing a little research. Before there was "THE BADAB WAR" redone in ForgeWision , there was a little mix up between presumably loyal space marine chapters and nearly all of them were camo'd...and they looked awesome. This is what the Howling Griffins looked like before they were drawn and quartered. :tu: Cheers, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244565-howling-griffon-tactical-marine/#findComment-2961315 Share on other sites
