Hi Peoples,

Lakenheath Hive Wargaming Club is proud to present A War Torn Future, a 1 day 750pt per person 40k doubles event with a bit of a twist (The teams are randomly determined). The tournament is on Saturday 4th February and held in Lakenheath, Suffolk.

The price is £5 and there'll be prizes for the winners, runners up, best painted army and best sportsman. The Information Pack is in PDF format here (A big thanks to the 1st Company Veterans for their help with this); please get in contact if you're interested or have any questions.

Cheers and happy New Year.

ill have to confirm with the little mrs, but sign me up for this one..

quick Q, it says that rules do not confer to allies armies but Ics may join with allies units.. what about rules that ICs give to units?

eg khans hit and run, or shrikes infiltrate?

Thanks for the email, your place is confirmed

Good question, I've started a FAQ page which I'll make available closer to the time once any others queries have cropped up, but my suitably official sounding answer is this:

Special rules that ICs give to units they join will also not affect allied units. The only way allied forces can intentionally interact with each other is through the main rulebook rules of Independent Characters and Transports. The intention of the rules is to represent two forces working together to achieve a common goal, but without detailed knowledge of each other’s battle tactics.

Any good or does that open up further loopholes?

Cheers

Me and a friend have organised this A War Torn Future tournament, where the teams are randomly determined, and we would quite like to participate ourselves.  The only problem is that due to the restrictions of one us needing to keep an eye on the tournament in general we need to play together and ignore the random team rules. This obviously brings up the issue of things not being fair due to us being able to make our lists work together, so two impartial Warseer members have very kindly independently written the two required army lists, which can be found here. We will also not be eligible for the 1st or 2nd place awards, just to assure people that we're only taking part for the fun of it.

Edit: Well, due to the problem of things still being unfair due to me and my friend knowing each other's play styles, the two Warseers have kindly modified the lists down to 675pts, thus we have a 10% disadvantage to balance things out.

Thanks
